I've seen different threads ranking teams using times in polls, and top teams of the last decade; so I figured I'd rank teams using different metrics including the rankings in polls.

"claimed" Natty's is a weak metric. A&M claims 3 but had never actually been voted champ. Auburn could claim up to 4 more from the pre-poll era that would be just as legit as any of theirs
Posted on 6/8/19 at 11:48 pm to BowlJackson
Who was "voted" champion of the 1939 season?
Posted on 6/8/19 at 11:52 pm to CGSC Lobotomy
Congrats on having one in the poll era, barely. As for the other two you "claim", nobody, it was called the pre-poll era for a reason
Posted on 6/8/19 at 11:57 pm to BowlJackson
Why not just admit you were wrong?
Posted on 6/9/19 at 12:04 am to Hugh McElroy
How am I wrong? Just because you're butthurt that 66% of your "titles" aren't legit and 100% will never be respected by non Aggies bc nobody cares what happened pre-WW2 doesn't make me wrong

Clearly Bama is the best but the drop offs between the next 3 groups is pretty staggering. I was surprised to see that massive of a gap between them.

Great list. I'm sure that took you a while to compile. I did see one glaring error I thought I would mention though.
Alabama's record is 934-320-44 which gives it a winning percentage of .736. That winning percentage is the best in the nation, although you didn't have a category for winning %.

Like I said in the OP I used Winsipedia so I used what they had I guess they haven't updated what they have. Sorry. That might mean parts of this list are outdated then. Thought Winsipedia would've had updated stuff.
I googled All time wins for teams and different sites give different numbers so I'm keeping what I have in OP for the time being until I can find something more official.

Nah, your good. I'm just being specific about things. The numbers I listed are wins on the field.
Winsipedia, along with many other sites, chooses to factor in forfeits and vacated games.

WRONG
According to winsipedia which is always up to date within 24 hours of the last game a team played Bama's record is 905-329-43 (.726) and that's the 5th best winning % all-time

Igoogled All time wins for teams and different sites give different numbers so I'm keeping what I have in OP for the time being until I can find something more official.
For purposes of historical record, not necessarily your list, here:

is a site that lists games played on the field and doesn't bother itself with the NCAA taking and giving wins or losses.

According to winsipedia which is always up to date within 24 hours of the last game a team played Bama's record is 905-329-43 (.726) and that's the 5th best winning % all-time
"BuT bOwL" you say, "mUh On FiElD wInNiNg PeRcEnTaGe", you say
NEWSFLASH DUMBASS, vacated wins don't count, you dirty bunch of CHEATERS
No, you are incorrect. Alabama has the best winning percentage in the nation. Pretty soon, they will have the most overall wins also.
Wins on the field count because, you know, they happened.

No shite so does the NCAA. That's your official record. Don't like it, shouldn't have cheated. Dumb frick
I'm sorry your team is a lower tier, backwater, second best for it's whole existence type of program.
That isn't the fault of the team with the best winning percentage in the nation, now is it?
Auburn just needs to be more auTastic and auDominating more of the time.
