I'm not sure why the SEC can't make officiating a professional part of the business organization. Having guys that work a normal Monday - Friday at a job somewhere then come ref somewhere on Saturday is simply inexcusable considering the money this league brings in hand over fist.

Is 1 allowed to be an announcer as well? Seems like the person should impartial to all schools in all respects.

One interesting tidbit is that Chris Conway, who is an SEC official, also serves as the public address announcer for Auburn basketball and was the line judge for the Alabama vs. Missouri game.

You would think a LSU fan of all fans would be in favor of eliminating favoritism and gross incompetence of SEC officials. Maybe not though, you guys have been the beneficiaries here recently.

I am. I just enjoy pointing out that the constant narrative about LSU fans being the only ones who complain about officiating is complete and utter horseshite.

I don’t see much complaining in this thread. I just doubt many knew the Auburn basketball PA guy is an SEC official.
