It will never happen but how legit would it be, with how competitive the league is becoming, if the SEC had a four team conference playoff. The two top teams from each division facing each other? The west #1 against the east #2 and vice versa? How would it look? Would it work? Discuss the possibility....

W1 Alabama vs E2 Florida
W2 LSU vs E1 Georgia
ETA: it's quite simple really

Doing this:
W1 Alabama vs. W2 LSU
E1 Georgia vs. E2 Florida
would do very little to figure out who the best team truly is. That would be guaranteed to have at least one rematch, whereas the other scenario presents a possible no-rematch playoff

Presidents wouldn't allow it unless the money would be to much to pass up. They are already complaining about the extra games for the NC playoff.
It would also expose the best team to a loss and out of NC hunt. Just think if ND would have two more games to play just to play in the 4 team NC playoff.

Of course the Gumps don't like it because they would get their asses beat by Florida...DUH

Assuming the games would be played at neutral sites, it would help to negate the benefit of playing your division rival at home in the "regular season".
