Big 12 has better teams 4-10 so they'd be favorites regardless.

However, the Alabama SEC#1 Oklahoma BIG12 #9 matchup does mean most of the other SEC teams play a bit tougher opponent.

On the other hand, every SEC team, aside from Alabama, has an opportunity for a very good resume building win.

This will no longer be an issue when we switch over to the SEC/ACC challenge.

Looks pretty evenly matched to me.

WVU is having a rough year but man, they have played a killer of a schedule. 11 Q1 games already. We don’t shoot the ball well especially on the road so I wouldn’t be surprised to see us get beat but I expect to win.

Hmmm. No aggy? Did they opt out?

With 14 teams in the SEC and only 10 in the Big 12, the conference has been forced to rotate teams every two years.

The Aggies have played in the challenge every year except for one since it began, but did not participate in 2022 with Vanderbilt, South Carolina, and Georgia.

Each of the 10 teams that participated in 2022 will be the same group of teams that are part of the 2023 event, meaning the Aggies will likely rejoin the challenge during the 2024 season.

I agree, on paper this doesn't appear to bode well going in, but this has been a very good series for us in actuality.

Last season we went 6–4:
quote:

TCU 77, (19) LSU 68
(23) Iowa State 67, Mizzou 50
(1) Auburn 86, Oklahoma 68
Arkansas 77, West Virginia 68
Ole Miss 67, Kansas State 56
Florida 81, Oklahoma State 72
Alabama 87, (4) Baylor 78
(13) Texas Tech 76, Mississippi State 50
(12) Kentucky 80, (5) Kansas 62
Texas 52, (18) Tennessee 51

The Big 12 leads all-time, having an overall challenge record of 4–3–2 over nine years (two years ended in 5–5 ties).

Pretty even matchups across the board.

I think each conference will have five betting favorites and five betting underdogs.

I'd guess it'll 7-3 in favor of Big12 in terms of betting underdogs.

Only Alabama and Tennessee from the SEC will be certain betting favorites. Auburn on the road, Miss St and Mizzou at home will be pretty close lines but likely only Auburn favored.

I may be missing something but I would be surprised if Miss St -- who will likely be on a 1-8 skid in it's last games coming into the TCU game -- would be favored over the #11th ranked team in the country even at home.

Just for discussion, here are three different predictive results by...

Warren Nolan — Auburn wins 70-68
Bart Torvik — West Virginia wins 72-69
Erik Haslam — West Virginia wins 71-69

At least according to them, it looks like you're spot on. Should be a great game.

Two consecutive years OU is playing the #1 team and both are in-state rivals.
