Vandy is a really good, deep complete team. Won by 50 tonight. Really fun to watch this year.

We can't rebound or play defense but we can score in bunches. Oh and we build big leads only to blow them at the end of every half.

No one even criticized him. I actually just grouped him together with the best players of the last 10 years.

Who is the top players in the conference and your team?

The two undefeated teams still are SC and Kentucky, both have RPI's in the Top25, but it's early. Kent, Vand and aTm are in the AP Top25.

Here's a link to some stats
https://www.secsports.com/statistics/mens-basketball/team/scoring-per-game

SC is Top 3 in the SEC in:
Scoring
Rebounding

SC's Sr big men (are European's) are a leading the charge in scoring and rebounding. The biggest difference for the team this year is we now have 3-4 guys coming off the bench and making plays, we are MUCH deeper than we were last year. Silva, Cobb and Dozier are all doing really well.

Sindarius Thornwell is still the star of the team though.

I know, but some of them just don't realize it.

There are some pretty good teams in the conference.

UF is better than many thought and is looking like a tournament team.

We're pretty good and gonna make some noise in SEC play this year. We should be a tourney team as one of the few teams left that actually plays defense

Auburn is improved, but still a year or two away from top 20 I think.

We are bigger, more athletic and deeper so we will likely make NIT and might sneak into the big dance.

Free throw shooting must improve especially Bowers.

Harris is a solid forward. Dunans is a good slasher. Canty is a scorer. Brown can shoot. Horace spencer needs some weight but he's long.

Shamsid-Dean is a great kid, but injuries are mounting for him. New Williams is a dynamic athlete, injuries are limiting him right now.

Bottom line: "We comin' "

Tonight (granted it was against Detriot) is one of the best most complete games I have seen a Vandy team play in 28 years of going to games in Memorial. Detriot avg. 95.6 ppg & VU held them to 52 with the last 12 points coming vs the last 5 guys on the bench.

Big game coming up @ Baylor then tilts with Dayton & @ Purdue shortly there after. Tough non conference but what the team needs.

Bama has promise.. Shannon Hale has been very good the last few games and played well vs 2 top 25ish teams.. Retin Obosohan is stepping up pretty strong. TR Arthur Edwards can light it up from 3 from time to time. Dazon Ingram is going to be an NBA calibre player 6'5 pg who can get to the basket with ease.. has to work on his shot but he distributes really well.

Lots of solid contributors.. We have a lot to figure out and it's hard to tell if we can be any good consistently or not... we've been blown the heck out in our 2 losses which puts pause on our excitement but we are better now than we thought we'd be. If Jimmy Taylor can stay on the floor and FR Dante Hall can continue to develop we will have a solid front. Kessens is playing better but Norris needs to step it up..

We are a borderline bubble but a NIT lock as we stand now.. we have a tough NC schedule so that should have us prepared for a solid SEC this year.

I like Vandy and enjoyed watching A&M play a few times. We have good overall talent in the Conference, and once teams like LSU decides to get a real coach, they will be more consistent with their talent.

The end goal is your seed for March and how far you can go in the Tourney. Problem with fan bases like LSU and Arkansas is their idea of success is a regular season win vs. a particular school.

You do realize LSU has gotten better every year under Johnny right. Not saying he is great but the basketball program is not on tDecline.

SEC is deeper this year than last year maybe not necessarily as good at the top.

Auburn is fun to watch with several more scoring options than we have had in previous seasons. We still don't defend or rebound well which will hurt us against good teams. I think we have a chance to finish around .500 in conference, give or take a game.

I disagree. Usual dog shite teams like AU and USC are becoming competitive. LSU looks like dog shite early, but they have so much talent I suspect they will be pretty good by season's end. That's ignoring the 4 good teams in the league.

Don't try to talk basketball with LSU people. Other than about -5 of them they don't keep up other than the past 15minutes

Just because Arky is dog crap doesn't mean the rest of the league are. Kentucky and Vandy are very good. A&M, LSU, and Mississippi St. have some good to great talent. Pearl at Auburn they always have a shot and USCe will be better than last year. Florida will probably still be pretty good.

I think we are a year away (maybe 2) from the SEC being a good basketball conference, but the improvement and trajectory are apparent to me.
