Be interesting to see. Pre-season I would've picked UT over UK in the regular season and UK in the tournament.
But after watching UK play other teams in the summer, their team cohesion is way, way farther along than I thought it would be. Also two surprises, the defense is really good for being this early and our shooting is going to be very good this year. Both shocked me.
I think we will see where UK is early, since the play Dukek and UNC early, BUT the SEC is always way more physical and tougher than any non-conference games UK will play, even against Duke, UNC, and Kansas.

It's a good thing UK has some competition during the SEC season now. Will make them sharper in March, which is really all that matters.

This should be the best/deepest(11deep)/most veteran team that Barnes has assembled since arriving in Knoxville.
He owns the h2h against Calipari since arriving in Knoxville and very possibly sweeps UK 3 games to 0 last season if Admiral doesn't get injured the last few minutes of the SEC tournament championship game.
Keep in mind Barnes has done this with a roster full of 3 star players prior to this year. Barnes has proven time and time again he can out coach Cal even with the huge advantage Cal has had in recruiting/personnel.
So yes, UT can be on UK's level.

Also interested to see how Crean does at UGA.
The bar isn't very high. The key to doing well at UGA is in recruiting. The problem is UGA basketball doesn't have the pull for recruits that football does.

UK could be great but, like every year, they could be hit or miss. You never know what freshmen are gonna do. Im gonna go with Tennessee. More experience.

Bruce Pearl and Auburn thank y'all for that btw, he's building our program off players from Georgia.
Already got the #1 player in Georgia for the c/o 2019 too

I really want to bitch and moan about not being seen as on par with UK and UT but after years of being picked in the bottom 4 it just feels dirty to even think that way.

I like it. We're getting respect but we still have plenty to earn and plenty to prove. We'll just have to show them like last year.
