You serious dude? UK has a long way to go and UF is a legit top 3 team in the country. I haven't watched Mizzou yet this year. Ole Miss is 7-1 and could play San Diego St and Arizona in the Diamonhead classic next weekend.

I thought about starting a game thread, was a little surprised no one had.

Yes UF will contend. My bad i left UF out but you know UK will rise up when conference play starts. They always do.

ETA: I haven't had a chance to see Ole Miss play yet but i guess i will when y'all whip our arse in conference play. You just gotta forgive me man. I'm a demoralized Bama basketball fan right now.

Well, like i said - VCU might not be ranked yet, but they are a good team. They will be ranked before too long, I'd think. They have 3 losses so far, two of those to us and Louisville. Plus, this game is at their house. Y'all might do better than you think.

And right now, I'd say Florida is the best SEC team. Mizzou and Kentucky both have things to work on still. We have 2 big tests coming up - the Illinois game is a toss-up, then we go out to UCLA, and even when they're down wins don't come easily there. Hopefully we get all the kinks worked out before we play our first conference game against Bama on January 8! We'll try to give you a little better game than the last time a Bama team came to Columbia.

semotruman, our conference schedule is very front heavy this season. We may very well start out 0-6.... .....Not looking forward to the Mizzou game. Yes Florida does look good and Ole Miss seems like they'll contend. Kentucky always ups their game when conference play rolls around.

Tennessee coming around. We beat #23 Wichita this week and we're still without our best player. Once Maymon returns there will be a clear top 4 in the league just as it was projected preseason.

Why is he out again? And when is he expected back?

Infection in his knee. Expected back around the beginning of January. But if he misses much more he will likely redshirt.

He is the difference between a top 6 seed in the tourney and the bubble imo.

We played sloppy, uninspired ball (a regular occurrence for A&M these days) and ended up losing by 10 to a mediocre OU team.

That's rough. Hope he's OK. I thought Stokes was the guy y'all were excited about though?

They looked better today but we won't know how much better until they play Louisville in about two weeks. Harrow being on the floor has helped quite a bit.

Our game Monday night will be the first with Jabari Brown available, so I'm anxious to see how he does. There are a lot of expectations on that young man after Dixon's departure.

I tend to agree but when he has them out of school I think he will ratchet up practice and run the hell out of them.

Stokes is more talented, but he is only 18 and is getting doubled-tripled with every touch without Maymon in the post with him.

Maymon has been through the battles in the Big East and SEC.

Maymon is the unquestioned leader of our team both offensively and defensively.

Averaged 13 and 9 in SEC play last year.

Yeah the 20 hour limit is out the window over the break. I'm sure that was part of the improvement today. Two weeks is a long time when they're practicing at that rate. And that's when you almost always start seeing marked improvement in his teams.
