I'm not flaming what you are doing is flaming.....seems as though reading comprehension, vocabulary, and communication skills as a whole were not a big party of your education

ETA yes that last part was a flame in case you were wondering or had any questions about it k

Your quote was not taken out of context, you said you didn't know shite about the band but that LSU's was the best. That is with out a doubt one of the biggest homer statements I have read here, especially considering you took the time go so far as to be a sheep about your own band.

If you don't know shite, how do you know if LSU's band is good at what ever you say they are the best at. You can't. Unless you are a homer and a sheep.

ok let me spell it out for you step by step as I review my quote so little Bammers like yourself can understand.

quote:

i dont know shite about bands, other than its their job to get the crowd going and cheering. LSU is the best at this IMO.

this means I dont know about different kinds of bands and what not.... I just know it is a band's job to get the crowd up and making noise.LSU's band is the best in the sec in getting the crowd up and making noise and cheering.

If you still cant conprehend this statement, I highly doubt you ever stepped foot in a class at the University of Alabama.

If you think your football team is made up of women so be it.. They talk about getting goosebumps before running onto the field..

Lsu has NOTHING... NOTHING AT ALL to compare to Bama's cafeteria. Much less restrooms.

I still can't believe you're bragging about your band. This is on the level of bragging about spring game attendance.

Obviously, but I thought LSU was above all of that. Seriously, no one gives a flying frick about a marching band.

yea thats why they line up an hour before the game to see them play,
Just because you don't care for band music does not mean everyone does.
They are a big part of the Bama experience..

In the Stands, I'd say LSU takes it.

On the field, LSU, Bama & UGA all have an argument.

I'd say the best in the country are probably some of the D2 schools.

Go without the band at any major college football program for just one home game and watch the reaction from the fans

Agreed! Bama's battery and front ensemble put on a pretty decent show as a warmup before going into the stadium. They run the warm ups and show music with each section having thier own solo act thrown in throughout. I usaually catch it before each game.

Bingo!

Texas State comes to mind. They only march around 200 but their execution and sound production is near drum corp level..

Southwest Missouri state and James Madison are some others that rattle the bleachers.

Never heard them but if this is a fact they are heads and tails above any college band I have ever heard or been a part of.

to me the only people really talking smack are the people making fun of people talking about bands.

The only draw backs are the ordinary football crowd appeal in the music selections (much like DCI). This effects the crowd reaction but a trained/educated ear could tell the difference. Just like we can decipher the sound gap between TGBFTL and say, Phantom Regiment.

Most would agree, myself included, that entertaining your audience is the most important job.
In this area LSU is one of the best ive encountered. But overall difficulty and execution overwhelmingly goes to the smaller schools
