Man, I was really hoping to beat LSU straight up and at full strength. A win is a win I guess...

he only ways I see to prove that are 1)admission from a party involved (scout most likely, in an effort to bring down those around him as he goes down) or 2) catching someone in a lie.

Pretty much. Unless someone confesses I don't see much happening except a rule change.

Haha straight up?

Chop blocks, lucky slots, and 180K sing a different tune.

I think someone gets the NCAA hammer. Probably Oregon. Just so NCAA doesn't look bad for setting up this whole situation.

sorry but if it's LSU getting the hammer, Miles deserves to be fired, plain and simple.

I could see the NCAA rolling the penalties and punishment in with the Akieem Hicks stuff that they haven't even finished ruling about.

still haven't seen the tweet where he says LSU spent 50k. Numbers I've seen are btween 6k-15k

Here is the twat from schad's joe.

schadjoe Joe Schad
LSU paid two other recruiting services more, $15.5K to XOS and $13K to Collegiate Sports Data. Avg payment of 11: $5,344.

average payment = 11 x 5344 or $64,128.

not an accountant but that looks like more than 50k to me.

This is the absolute truth....He didn't mind being a bad comedian when it was all about Auburn. This has everythig to do with the fact it's about LSU.

Plain and simple,Les will not be fired because he has just signed a locked in SEVEN YEAR contract with a huge buy out. Les is too smart to be directly involved in any "Hankey-Pankey"

Fail.

Sao = Arky fan.

Good try.

I like how you can't let something go from 3 years ago though. It's quite impressive. Even though you won the game, and the BCSCG, you still whine like a little girl about one play.

i'm pretty sure there's a clause somewhere in the contract that covers something about violating ncaa rules and shite and that being a fireable offense.

just because he's locked in doesnt mean he's untouchable.

Most have something about following the rules that they can control in the contract. It would be stupid on any university to not have it. The would be stuck with a coach.

and all this talk about miles being too smart to be involved...that doesn't mean the man is totally clean. this whole thing just smells foul.

It does, but I can really see LSU contracting Lyles' services and not really knowing what was really up to.

Think about it: 100+ kids on the team, and how many of them have some sort of handler? It's hard to keep tabs of.

LSU's best defense is that they did this all on public record. If they're guilty of anything based on current evidence, it's negligence. Not to say there isn't more out there. There may be, but not on public record.

let me get this straight.. did LSU hire Lyles or did they hire the company he was working for at the time?

directly involved

Well, he's already directly involved with Lyles, who was allegedly directly involved with hanky panky. Why would he just do so with Oregon? Were they the only ones willing to pay more, or were they just dumb enough to not suspect he was up to no good? And is LSU in the same boat? Or did they know? These require a much higher burden of proof, and basically depend on someone blowing the whistle.

so LSU pays for services which includes videotape and scouting information of prospects, right?

so if LSU is able to provide said tapes and information, would that not be able to clearly detail what LSU got from lyles?

Probably. But he could have provided all that and still be violating bylaws IF he influenced any recruit to go to a particular school. If LSU knew, or should have known, of that influence, they'll be in trouble. My guess is they didn't, but maybe I'm being naive. I don't think I am, I think I'm making a solid assumption based off of a ton of research and interviewing.

I believe that to be the case and what the NCAA was looking for from Oregon in all this. There was also a benchmark that they paid a similar amount for the same services as other schools. That will be a key point in determining if it was pure scouting info or payoff for pushing a kid your schools way.

Edoit: That being said it may not be the only criteria the NCAA is putting upon schools. We also all need to remember the NCAA is under fire and has taken a beating and they are looking for a lb of flesh from a school or schools.

Again, if we're talking all recruiting services, that number is low.

Well if you take Schad's tweet of LSU paying 11 recruiting services an average of $5300+ that would put our entire spending at $53k.
