It is kind of fricked up that GT is actually in Atlanta yet they can't have the ACC championship game at the Georgia Dome.

Except Ga. Tech is the Tulane of Georgia. Way more interest in UGA sports, even in Atlanta itself.

Comparing GT to Tulane in sports is retarded, but I wouldn't expect anything less from you.

I went to the 2007 SECCG and I just don't think it is great atmosphere leading up to the game. Maybe I just didn't go to the right spots. There was basically no tailgaiting and no bars right there to get wasted at.

A response like this is exactly the kind I expect from you.

I would say almost always UGA fans work for GT fans.

I wouldn't make that comparison for Tulane.

New Orleans should get it every so often.

it would be hard to have it in New Orleans because if by some miracle Tulane would host the CUSA Championship you could have two games scheduled for that day

Me either, but I was comparing the level of interest from fans, even within their home city.

I know personally that LSU fans outnumber Tulane fans in NOLA about 10-1.

I was stating that it's similar in Atlanta, the way UGA fans outnumber GT fans.

I don't know the details of the CUSA agreement, but I'd think the Superdome would jump at the chance to host SEC events.

IDK I just think the game day experience of the SECCG does not live up to SEC football.

the only problem with the seccg in nola would be the winner is most likely going to be playing in the sugar bowl

You say that like it's a problem. The only reason people are suggesting a rotation is the game experience in Atlanta is somewhat underwhelming compared to what it would be in NOLA.

Its not a huge problem but some people dont want to make the trip to the same place twice in a month. Of course it isnt a big deal to us bc its not a far drive at all.

Id like to see it in nola as the trip would be way shorter and the tailgating better. Also the weather would be way better.

fwiw though ive had fun in Atlanta every time I have gone.

I'd like it in Nashville simply because it's closer and I have family there, but weather and field conditions are a big down side.

With that said, I love it in Atlanta.

Yes, but you can't deny that NOLA would be about 10X funner!

Here's something that may surprise many of you: There are only two cities in the entire SEC for which New Orleans is closer than Atlanta. Baton Rouge and Fayetteville. Obviously, it's closer for LSU, but it's only 10% further for Arkansas: 700 miles vs. 633 miles.

So truly, the only school for which New Orleans would be a better alternative is LSU.

Darn.

If driving distance is the deal breaker for someone they aren't a true SEC fan.
