Mack Brown fricked up the QB position more than any national championship winning coach in college football history.
Chose Simms over Manning but his hand might have been forced by Cutcliffe becoming the Ole Miss HC
Had to be convinced by Tim Brewster to even consider recruiting Vince Young
Wanted RG3 as a DB
Wanted Manziel as a DB
Chose Garrett Gilbert over Andrew Luck
His legacy would have been a whole lot worse had he not gotten a hidden gem in Colt McCoy who really was his only QB win at Texas since Brewster gets credit for Vince and Simms legacy at Texas was mixed largely due to Mack's mismanagement of Simms time at Texas.

No it was Eli or Simms to be his first major QB recruit at Texas. He flipped Simms from Tennessee on 2/4/1999 and then Eli signed with Ole Miss on 2/7/1999.
He also botched the Simms Applewhite QB situation as evidenced by us losing the 2001 Big 12 Championship to Colorado after Simms melted down and turned the ball over 4 times and Mack sent him back out which caused the fanbase to revolt.

And yet, your dynamic duo of Dodds/Plosky took it on. Hard to imagine that Plosky wasn't aware of the situation being such a good little dyke.
The coach had a very good point as Applewhite got treated with kid gloves (out of raise consideration for one year) while she got terminated.

Crazy all the quarterbacks from texas that didn't go to whorn. Baker Mayfield, Kyler Murray, Drew Brees, Andrew Luck, Patrick Mahomes, Matthew Stafford, Robert Griffin III, etc.
