1-Ryan Mallett will throw for more yards and TD's than Snead.
*He has possibly the strongest arm in the country. Most agree on this.
*He has the SEC All-Purpose yardage leader in the backfield, an SEC 1st Team TE, returns every starter at the WR position, and one of the best O-Lines in the conference.
*His coach, developer, and play caller is named Petrino. Snead has Nutt.
2- Arkansas will finish tied or higher than Old Piss.
*Old Piss claims to be set up for success because of a weak schedule. I can't argue this.
*Arkansas and Florida St. started the most freshman and true freshman in the country (23). If Old Piss can claim the West now, then I suppose Arkansas can make a greater case based on the same critieria. No one in the league returns more players that start than Arkansas.
I have spoke my peace.

I agree with 95% of everything here...
We'll have to wait and see on this one. We do return Petrus who was All-SEC in 2007...Best a stretch...Most Improved...For Sure..
I don't know about TD's...but should have more yardage than Sneed
DJ Williams will end up All-American

You realize we have a QB coach that deals with Snead not just Nutt.

never thought I would live to see the day Hogs/Rebs start smack talking one another.

Didn't you know Nutt was the greatest QB evah?

Point one...well maybe. That offense is built for more passing yards than ours.
The second one though, well sorry not going to happen this year. It's ok, you have next year to look forward to. You know, to finally get back at Nutt.
Arkansas fans are as bad as LSU fans with this old coaches thing.

Well..in all fairness...Saban and Nutt did coach these schools. What was it like the year after TT left OM?

Erm...so let me rephrase.
Arkansas fans are as bad as Ole Miss and LSU fans in terms of departed coaches.

Probably similar to what Arkansas and LSU fans are currently, but message boards weren't big back then so it wasn't mentioned as much.

Duke, you are alright.
Really, it's not Ole Miss as much as Nutt that Ark fans hate. Remember, Danny Nutt did flip us off last year at the game.

It goes both ways.... Nutty still talking

The knock on me at Arkansas was that we didn't throw the ball enough, we didn't do enough in the passing game. Now that's what we do better than anything.
Woopig is the best message board ever

Oh, and to the original poster..
#1-Probably
#2- Probably not. Maybe

I completely agree with you on this point, however it is only because we are going to be running the clock out, while you guys are going to be playing from behind all of the time.

Brent Schaeffer quite possibly had the strongest arm in America...he also completed 38% of his passes.

Michael Smith had tons of yardage, but overall Ole Miss had a lot more yardage. Michael Smith was your only weapon out of the backfield. We had 4 players with at least 400 yards rushing.
Your wide recievers sucked, and you lost three of your offensive lineman, including Jonothan Luigs. DJ Williams is a beast, but he's the only thing you mentioned that is as good as you are trying to say it is.

Mallet does indeed have Petrino. But why did Casey Dick's passer rating go down last year?
Jevan Snead has the best QB coach/O-coordinator in the league.

While possible, this scenario is highly unlikely as Ole Miss has more returning starters from a better team. Arkansas will be improved.

the second thing you've gotten right.

Arkansas returns a lot of freshman that almost lost to Western Illinois and ULM. Ole Miss returns alot of upperclassmen who won 9 games.
I'm going to save this.
Everybody who says that Ole Miss is going to fall flat on it's face next year, think that this year was a fluke. Everybody who thinks this past year was a fluke, doesn't know how to read stats.

I think if you listen to most Hog fans, we have said Hootie will make your program better. Ole Miss will win games against better teams you should not beat, but you will also lose against teams you should beat.
Look at Hootie's overall record against KY and Vandy, not too impressive.
I am curious about Hootie's recruiting, traditionally he is not a great recruiter and has not been aggressive against the bigger programs. He did get lucky last year (and worked harder than I have seen him work in 10 years)and got some recruits late that improved Ole Miss's class. I will take luck every day of the week, and Hootie certainly has luck.
I believe the fallout at Arkansas has given Hootie a wakeup call and he is working harder than ever. I am curious about how this year will go for you guys. Hootie usually follows up a solid year with a "Does Not Meet Expectations" performance. (ie 1999 and 2007 are two examples).
We'll see, good luck to Ole Miss, I'll be cheering against you.
