Speaking of pitching, a starter has a quality start if he gives up fewer than three runs for every seven innings. When a starter hovers around 3.50 for his ERA, he’s doing his job on a game-to-game basis, because he's giving his team a chance to win. That's the pitchers job. Give your team a chance to win.
