Thanks.

It won't register though, TK421 is a classic Texas sympathizer. LSU fans get exposed to that Longhorn arrogance and they either get turned off by it or hooked onto it.

TV ratings for one season are your big "boom"?

Try winning something, anything, meaningful as a football team. And no, keeping it within 60 of the best team in the country does not count.

I agree that our team often didn't look like it was trying at all this season

Are those the numbers from the Longhorn Network? What a shitty investment that was.

A one off game does is no good. If they want to play, make it a home as home. They know they have nothing to lose. I am glad we nixed it.

Hey smart guy, A&M has crushed Texas in TV ratings all three years we've been in the SEC. It's not a one year thing. Last year our game against Rice was watched by more people than Texas/OU.

So, you're saying it has nothing to do with A&M and everything to do with the quality opponents you are losing to? Congrats?

You asked for proof we are more relevant in the "real world." There isn't a better measure of relevancy than ratings.

The rating this year look the same:

LINK

As you can see there we did better on Thanksgiving despite NOT playing a playoff contender. Also our game vs Auburn got WAY better ratings than any game Texas played last year. Three years in a row now Texas has not had a top 10 rated game, while we have had one each SEC season.

We are more relevant right now and we get more exposure than they do. It is pretty obvious.

Now you are moving the goalposts. No one knows the future.

With that said, looking at recruiting rankings and it is clear we have more potential than Texas the next couple of years to win something meaningful.

Actually of our highest three rated SEC games- 2012 Bama, 2013 Bama and 2014 Auburn- we have won two of those games.

This is not an argument we can win. Chip Brown of Hornsports.com has the power of a single Tweet. There is no fighting that kind of evidence and logic.

I like that when you are dead wrong you try and change the subject to something else. It's cute in a way.

No, that is the total ratings. So the LHN games are mixed in with the rest.

Two things hurt Texas's ratings:

1. Every LHN game gets the lowest rating possible

2. A good chunk of the rest of their games are on a Fox Sports One which few people watch.

The Tier 1 contract for the Big 12 is ABC, but Texas hasn't been near Tier 1 in a while so most of their games are trapped in the black hole of FS1 and LHN.

I can't believe that with your tv ratings and recruiting rankings, you aren't in the playoffs. Just not right.

SEC West:

Alabama
A&M
whatever who dat

I think it will happen eventually. You'll get Arkansas back when we finally feel bad for them and play again.

Fair point. I would still argue that has more to do with the SEC brand than any popularity or relevancy of the A&M program. But that is splitting hairs, to a certain extent.

True, this also happens to coincide with the worst 4 year stretch for Texas in a long time. LSU had poor ratings in the 90's, didn't mean we weren't relevant, so to speak.

quote:

We are more relevant right now and we get more exposure than they do.

Even if that's true (and an argument could be made either way), the point I responded to in the first place argued that Texas was not relevant. And that couldn't be further from the truth. It's like arguing the Cowboys are irrelevant because they haven't won the superbowl since 1995, except Texas played for the championship 5 years ago.

Look, I'm all for moral victories but Kiffen had great recruiting classes at USC and Mack had great classes at Texas. It really doesn't mean as much as your seem to think it does.

"How can yall say yall run this state?"

(Aggies point to recruiting rankings)

"Uh, ok but how can yall say you are more relevant?"

(Aggies point to TV ratings)

"Uh, ok but damn why are you Aggies bragging about your recruiting rankings and TV ratings? Can't yall get over yourselves?"
