I’m actually glad. He’s one of the few head coaches I really like. He is a likable guy who seems to do things the right way.

Has any coach come back from 1-7 type season to be successful? I could understand in year 1 but this is his 4th season right?

This just feels like Arky just not gaf about football.

Arkansas hasn't cared since they first got that first SEC check.

Lots of them.

Jackie Sherrill went 3-8 at Mississippi state in 1995, his 5th season there. In 1998 the lost the Cotton bowl and the next year won the Peach to finish 10-2.

Leach was 3-9 his 3rd year at Washington State and didn’t miss a bowl for the nearest (8 years) of his career.

There’s many coaches that could be better than Pittman.

I can go with that. Plus, dude’s got a perfect name for the SEC.

Apparently, he doesn’t do the main things a good coach does. Like winning.

Not sure what's going on up there on the hill, but this decision doesn't make a lot of sense.

Yurachek is putting his job on the line with this decision.

If the big money boosters are ok with this, well we might as well shut the football program down.

It isn’t just one bad season. We’ve been getting worse each year. 9-4 to 7-6 to 4-8. Next year 3-9. Fire Pittman.

Pretty happy with this. Son committed this year, but he’s a ‘25 so we’ll have to dodge this next year as well.

State had lower expectations back then but since raised them and they have improved.

Washington State historically has little history and the leash is very long.

Arkansas had higher expectations but over the years, it began to get lower and lower.

Before you know it, Arkansas is the Vandy of the West.

I think firing him would be a bad idea, but man he needs to have a good year next year.

That wasn't his question.

He asked if coaches had recovered from a season like this one and the answer is an unequivocal yes.

As far as expectations, playing in back to back NY6 bowls with a division title thrown in after going 3-8 is going to meet if not exceed the expectations of all but the most elite programs.

Ark, Mizzou, Texas, OU and TAMU might all be better off reforming the old SWC.

And that’s not a dig at any team. Geographically, it makes sense.

Pittman has already shown he’s incompetent as a head coach. He needs to go. I’d rather hire a more experienced head coach than see if Pittman has learned anything to turn it around.

The more turnover you go through, the harder it is to build stability. I’m not saying Pittman is the best man for the job, but you gotta let him take an honest swing at it.
