Yep. Bama and Okie got to play very solid but beatable teams like Mizzou and TN that boosted SOS, while OM drew an overall weaker conference schedule pretty similar to aTm (except that we played UGA while Aggies only played Texas). If only OK had taken care of business when OM came to Norman, or Bama hadn’t lost to FSU, they definitely would have been ranked higher than OM. Oh well ….

Notre Dame and Penn State ran up the score on weak opponents and held them to less than their average in points/yards. These metrics are rewarded in this analysis. They are poor metrics to include in my opinion and reward teams that play easy schedules if they purposefully blow out those teams.

DEI team Tulane has the 75th hardest schedule

Can't blame the committee for Tulane or JMU. The top 5 conference champions are in by rule. Playoff would have been better if ND was in the ACC. They played 6 ACC games this year anyway. If they were fully in the conference, they'd have lost Purdue, Boise State and one of Arkansas/A&M and had 3 more ACC games.

They'd likely have been in the CCG and won it and gotten one of the 5 conference champion spots, sparing us James Madison in the playoff.
