At some point, the NCAA has to address the serious issues with NIL and the transfer portal because players shouldn't be allowed to just jump ship without some type of repercussion.

If coaches can leave then players should be able to leave.

It's as simple as that.

Apparently, the players were loyal to the coach, not the school.

The only thing that needed to be done was paying the coach what he wanted so he wouldn't leave or paying the players enough after refusing to pay the coach so that the players wouldn't follow him.

You want to solve the problem? Force the coaches to stay and not the kids.

How'd that be? We could force that coach to keep coaching at Marshall forever. Problem solved.

Oh wait, that'd be so illegal.......kinda like making a kid play for a school he doesn't want to play for......it's almost like slavery or something.

And just for those thinking some sort of non compete clause could save the situation.....non compete clauses are pratically useless here in the real world. People have a "right to work." It's legal stuff above the Rant's pay grade for the most part.

You may not legally stop players but could you not stop schools from hiring or firing until a date? Nothing can be officially announced can’t work for the next school in any capacity until say Feb 1st. Move the second signing day till Feb 20 ish that Wednesday.

What happened in decades past was illegal. You cannot use that justification for current situation. You will be laughed out of court just like the NCAA has over and over

What is being suggested is illegal. They are normal students in the eyes of the law. They do not have a contract, they are not employees, they do not have a union that can bargain

They are students and all this nonsense is illegal
