Saban > Moses, Alexander, Lincoln, Washington, Hannibal, and Abraham.

Reagan could kick Saban's arse though.

Beg to differ on Lincoln. Perhaps substitute Teddy Roosevelt or Jefferson ?

What ? Now,we were a play or two from 6-6 in '02,but I have a hard time believing he was under any pressure from LSU; the fans,sure,but not the powers that be.

Lincoln stuck with some offensive coordinators (McClellan) way too long. Saban would have fired his arse after The Second Battle of Bull Run.

Saban is winning with Shula's players. How come no one mentions this?

It's a new era of college football, a time where there are scholarship limits and anything that was done in the past (ahem...by the Bear) would be a recruiting violation.
That being the case, nobody other than LSU has the history that LSU has, with two national titles (assumption: AP = Irrelevant in this era). Nick is a damn good coach. But, it will take a lot to achieve what LSU has in this decade...whoever the coach is! So, IMO, LSU now is sitting atop the pinnacle of college football jobs along with a few other schools (Bama is one of them for the past tradition...not denying!). If not for LSU, maybe Saban is not who he is! Time will tell...

Because Shula wasn't winning big games with his own players.. But I think he went undefeated against ULL however! :)

Miles is considered a continuation coach..more winning with players that were winning already before his arrival..

It's a crock, but it just is what it is

Back and had a chance to review a few things before I posted. Again, I point out that anyone can sign 35 players and garnish more points than a team that simply is going to sign the players they need, like USC, LSU and Florida.

Currently, LSU is third in the nation in recruiting. Bama is eighth. Miles is almost guaranteed 2 more 5 star recruits, and possibly four, but I won't go into all that. I'd rather state that LSU could possibly finish with a 4.0 ranking or higher, the higest ranking in their history. So bet the Bama boys $$$, because unless
the world ends tommorrow, Bama has no chance of catching LSU in 2009 recruiting.

Les MIles and LSU 1, Nick Saban and Bama 0.
----------------------------------------------

In the HISTORY of Les Miles' tenue at LSU, here are his recruiting rankings, per RIVALS:

2005 3.69 (13)
2006 3.64 (25)
2007 3.87 (26)
2008 3.58 (26)
2009 3.83 (18) ===>>> 3.7220

Add this up you have a total of 107 players
over the course of half a decade that equal
a cumulative ranking that (look it up) is BETTER
than Nick's class of last year, of which many aren't even there anymore. Do you get the picture?
LSU has A HUNDRED PLAYERS better than Saban's best class.

In this case, Miles' AVERAGE beats Saban in his best year.

Manke it Miles and LSU 2, Saban and Bama 0
-----------------------------------------------

Saban's best classes EVER---- ANYWHERE, ANYTIME

2003 3.68 (LSU)
2008 3.72 (Bama)
2009 3.53 (bama)
2004 3.54 (LSU)=======> 3.6175

Saban also raked in steller classes in 2002
(3.23) and at Bama in 2007 (3.28) In this case,
in Sabans' 4 best classes, he's not even close to Miles.

Score it Miles and LSU 3, Nick Saban and Bama 0
----------------------------------------------

It's beyond obvious that Miles is a better recruiter, and the facts are proven on the field.

Next post.

Now, in the second part of why Miles is a better coach, lets look at when Miles was hired... January 5th 2005. Miles inherits a 16th ranked LSU team that loses to Iowa in the Capitol One Bowl.

We've already documented that Miles recruits better than Saban. Miles, in the wake of hurricane Katrina, and a completely displaced team, goes 11-2, destroys Miami, and finishes #5.

Score in coaching: Miles 1, Saban 0

Now lets take the COMPLETE HISTORY of Les Miles' record at LSU:

2005 10-2
2006 11-2
2007 12-2
2008 4-0 =====>> 38-6 .860

Saban's best years in his HISTORY

13-1 LSU, 2003
10-3 LSU 2001
9-3 LSU, 2004
4-0 Bama 2008 ====> 36-7 .837

Miles gives Saban his best four years...
he still loses to Miles.

Score Miles 2, Saban 0
---------------------------------

Now, let's compare the records against SEC coaches:

Miles verses record
Urban Meyer 2-1
Phat Phil 2-1
Mark Richt 0-1
Tommy TUb 2-2
Nick Saban 1-0
Steve Spurr 1-0.... 8-4 or .750

Saban

Urban Meyer 1-1
Phat Phil 2-1
Mark Richt 3-2
Tommy Tubb 2-3
Les Miles 0-1
Steve Spur 0-2 ====> 8-10 .. nuff said

Miles has proven to be a better game day coach.
Make it Miles 3, Saban 0
-----------------------------------------------

And here is another stat many don't know: Check the drafts since 2000. Count how many kids Saban put in the NFL, and how many Miles did.

Miles again.

Make it Miles 4, Saban 0

So, if you are beating Saban in RECRUITING, and WIN MORE with his players than he did..... guess
what's going to happen in November?

Come November, Miles will destroy Saban.

AGAIN.

Trio, Lucky, Arlo, and Slop can't answer. It's why they can't stand me.... I bitch slap them with the undisputed truth.

1. LSU is better than Alabama
2. Miles is better than Saban.

Until Saban can prove something (anything) to
prove otherwise, he and Bama are bridesmaids.

And we will beat Bama. Easily, I may add.

Do you honestly think I take time to read B.J.'s posts. I think we have all learned (I know I have) within the first couple of days of seeing his posts that he's a lonely person. You know if this is how you make friends and influence people congrats!
