Saban also couldn’t compete when the playing field got leveled with NIL. Hence why he retired.

I wish Kiffin upon LSU. He’ll make them competitive and annoying, and he’ll also continue to be his goofy arse arrogant troll self. It’s a match.

You do realize Saban still made it to the playoffs his last season, right? That counts as competing.

LSU fans have been working overtime the last two days to convince themselves that Lane is the savior they need.

The have short memories. 4 years ago Lane didn't even get a sniff from LSU when they were looking for a coach and now all of a sudden he's the "savior".

....but, but Saban said Lane is a great fit for LSU....

Saban has a short memory too.....I guess he didn't remember the time He (Saban) fired Kiffen before the NC run bc Kiffen had mentally checked out due to him being FAU's new HC.

Just FYI, Saban has never said a bad word about any coach. Has always made a point to stick up for coaches who've gotten fired, etc.

Yeah, it couldn't be that Saban wants to destroy Lane, naw that can't be it.

I don't think it is going to take much convincing, the dude can coach and bring in players. It's just Lane is always looking for a better gig and concerning Saban, he knows what college football has become. Heck, that is the reason he retired. Saban also knows better than anybody that a coach like Lane will knock it out of the park at LSU since Nick once had those keys and didn't due to shabby himself. Furthermore, Lane knows how broken college football has become and he knows if there is any place to go scorched earth on the system and smile while doing it it will be at LSU. Give Lane the NIL cash to bring in players to a place that really doesn't need much of a sales pitch anyway on top of being in one of the most talented states for high school recruits and LSU is about to be scary good.

Good statement by Saban, classy.

The pissing contest between LSU and Bama fans over Saban is amusing.

LSU fans are so desperate for validation and Bama fans are desperate to downplay anything to do with LSU.

Saban had success at both schools and hit a lot of milestones at both schools. LSU and Bama fans see it as an either/or thing and Saban sees it as an also/and thing.

Was the Bama/LSU rivalry this intense before Saban went to Bama?

Wasn't Saban behind Deboer going to Alabama?

I mean...Deboer is fine, but what happens if they miss the playoffs again this year?

According to the Coaching Changes Board, Saban is coming to be the DC.

LSU fans having to talk themselves into this hire being good is hilarious.

I’m assuming you’re one of the few OM fans that hoped Lane was leaving 6 months ago? Always hated that he was the coach of OM?

If not what changed?

In those four years he has taken a garbage program and averaged 10 wins a year. Some of you are retarded as hell.

If you're content winning 10 games every year and not playing in the SECCG and/or in the CFP or winning a NC then LK is the perfect fit.
Just be mindful that as a Head Coach he hasn't won a single championship.....of any kind.
