I don't understand. Who was supporting this rules change so avidly? Why did it have to have saben to push it? As far as I understood, almost everyone thinks it's a bad idea.
Saben can deflect all he wants to, but he comes across as sneaky, arrogant, selfish(to try to change a rule to benefit his team), and now a liar.

Having 300 pound linebackers is an advantage. Just not when facing a HUNH offense.

Well, his argument was injuries, so you can make book that they will be keeping tabs on injuries and if they occur during the HUNH or during regular game clock/play clock situations

You disadvantage your own defense because theoretically they have to be on the field more.
If you want to beat a HUNH team, win time of possession and stop them early and often in their drives. Their defense will start to struggle mightily and you will force them to slow it down.

What's really going to blow your mind is Saban and Kiffin running the HUNH out of the pro style offense in 2014. If Jacob Coker is as good as everyone says he is, he will be the starter and will also have the wheels to roll the pocket affectively. I see Bama moving more toward an up tempo offense next season.
