Nick Saban is talking at the Texas HS Coaches Association convention today. He was asked about NIL. Apparently, Bryce Young is doing quite well.
“Our QB has already approached ungodly numbers, and he hasn’t even played yet. If I told you what it is … it’s almost 7-figures."

Olivia Dunne is the one I really want to see how it works out. Do the followers really matter on non viewed sports.

Also want to see an adidas signee while at a Nike school and how that works.

I give it 2 years before people get sick of NIL because of how much it'll help Bama.

I bought the Bama O-Line $500 worth of Irish Car Bombs at Innisfree the other night. Those guys can put 'em back

It's weird this info hasn't been reported by the media, finding out due to a Saban quote. It's public record. Each school should have to post the amount/vendor info to a site.
If you want to get paid, you should be treated like everyone else.

The joke rule about not using NILs to recruit will be ignored by every Power Five school.

Your finacial information isn't public record, so can't really say treated like everyone else.
But I think I do remember something about this information would always be made public. So I'm curious on this as well.

why not? not arguing with you, just asking. Coaches contracts are public record and most everything else.

These kid's agreements aren't contracts with the school

and again what does that matter? I can't think of anything at a school that receives federal funds that would not be public record. While not contracts, they do report to the school.

The only way it would be public record is if your employer was a government/public job where they have to release it as an expense etc.
So a good example of this would be Trump and his taxes. We know from public record what he or any president made while being president. However, in order to know what his real financial records were he would have had to release his tax returns.
But like I said, I thought all this stuff would be announced, so I'm a little shocked that he's already up to almost 1 million, and I haven't seen a single announcement.

not true, you can file info requests for anything at a University. Besides health info, they have to give it to you.
Whatever they fill out to inform the school would be public record.
quote:
Athletes are required to disclose all NIL deals to their athletic compliance department to ensure that the deal is in compliance with state NIL Law (or, in the absence of a state NIL law, the school’s own developed NIL policy). Many schools are utilizing apps like Opendorse and INFLCR, which act as streamlined portals for athletes to upload the NIL contracts so they can be reviewed and approved by the compliance department.”

Looks like 5 star QB will be lined up to come to Bama now.
5 star RB, WR, DB and LB too.
Oh wait, they already have been.

This is compensation for their representation of their respective school, after all. Young is receiving all these offers because he is the QB at Alabama, he wouldn’t be close to 7 figures at, say, Oregon State.
I wonder if this is what will ultimately push Saban to retire. He already quit the NFL because he didn’t like dealing with pro athletes and their egos. I can’t imagine him reacting positively to some player bitching he isn’t getting enough playing time to satisfy his advertisers.

The coaches of most schools are technically state employees. Often times they are the highest paid state employees in a given state. That’s probably why we get the details. But Saban’s Aflac endorsement money isn’t disclosed

The SEC media days touched on the idea that Bowl game sponsors could ante upped through NIL big time to pay all the kids at a particular bowl for showing up? I like it. Might just solve the opt-out situation.
