Any time Saban gets the little brothers to talk and post about Him he has won. He would say"
".

There you have it.

This! It's no different than when Saban did the same to Meyer in the SECCG

I think he also said, "And, i believe the team should be able to break the huddle with 12 men during OT!"

Just when you Saban is the best in the business, he bitches about the thing EVERYONE knows is better. College ot gives each team a chance. NFL? If you win the coin toss you pretty much win most of the time.

Nor, after the 2008 game when Bama beat LSU in TS in OT.
Have you forgotten? LSU HAD the ball first in OT. Lee threw a pick.

It bears repeating: Nick Saban is a little narcissist whose shtick is growing thin.
Almost everything he says is structured to aggrandize himself at the sake of everybody else... case in point: the pregame on-the-field CBS interview. While Miles was exalting in the moment and proclaiming how he and his team were looking forward to their victory, Nick spewed some bullshite about doing what was assigned and everything would take care of itself.... in other words, if his team were to lose and wasn't on him but on his players' lack of focus and execution.

Bama HAD the ball first in this game, too.
ETA: That is my point. The EXACT same circumstance and no complaint....when HE was on the winning side.

Maybe if his team would have gained yards on 1st, 2nd, and 3rd down, instead of losing them, this would have been a moot point.
Sour fricking grapes, just like Brett Favre.
If Alabama would have won the toss, and the game ended the same way, nothing would be heard from him.

So, it would have been right for Miles to complain about the OT format?
There is a thing called a coin toss that gives each team a chance. I didn't see Nick offering to differ in that 2008 game.
And another thing, what difference does it make? Isn't Alabama supposed to be mentally tough? They had the same chance to score. Put it in the end zone and you don't have to worry about it. IF Bama had scored a TD, LSU had first and goal from the 7. Ford stepped out on his own (unforced error, anyway). Who says LSU doesn't score a TD? We didn't even have to try because Bama hadn't done anything on offense.
Alabama lost that game because LSU was better. Not because the OT rules are "unfair."

but i thought this wasnt sour grapes? It was just that he is an NFL guy (who sucks in the NFL) so he thinks the NFL rule is better?

Does he want the regular season NFL overtime rule? Under the regular season rule, if LSU wins the toss (we did, and in that format we would play offense, I suspect) and gets a field goal, 'Bama never gets a shot. Or does he want the improved one that the owners instituted for playoff games? In that case, if the team with the initial possession (LSU) scores a field goal on that possession, the other team gets to receive a kickoff and run one possession. So it's closer to the college rule than to the normal NFL rule.
In any event, Nick's a whiner. Giving the delusional Tide Nation one more pacifier ("the overtime rules screwed us") to suck on.

I like the college overtime procedure a whole lot better than the NFL's, but I believe that the home team should always be made to go on offense first. Screw the coin flip.
And here's a reminder to Little Nickie: it was YOU, you little narcissist, who was too chickenshit to try to move the ball down the field at the end of regulation.

Bama should have just come out and run the ball. They tried to get cute by throwing to TR...and he failed to make the play twice. It is Nick's fault, ultimately. He just can't accept it.

I will say this, though. I don't like counting OT stats in with the rest of the stats. Yards should not count at all and TD's should be 2 points and FGs 1 point or something. It skews things terribly at the end of the season when you are looking at both yardage and ppg stats if you have a 56-49 (5 OT) game on the schedule.

College OT is much better than NFL OT. Sudden death in a football game is awful, and what is the winning % for teams that win the toss in NFL OT v. college OT? Maybe they ought to move the ball out to the 40 in college, but I hate the NFL system.
Of course the result is the same, even using NFL rules. LSU wins by a field goal.
