I thought the "They are who we thought they were" was equally amazing.

That's the only time I saw him the entire segment. He's probably high as a kite.

How many "Damn strong football team" sigs have there been since 2007? And how many times has that been said or mentioned on this board?

The reason that quote was soo significant was the media, namely ESPN was trying to force him out before the national championship and he put them in their place.

What are the ESPN heads trying to get Saban to do?
Nothing, so what's there to talk about?

Really? The media was trying to force Lsu's coach out?

Well frick. Every football board on the internets is discussing this and I missed it. Sounds like his usual no-nonsense interviews though. The tuscaloosa media has quickly learned which buttons not to push so we don't see him gritting his teeth as often anymore. It sounds like the espn crew have been christened.

hunh.. how bout that. I thought they were just reporting what inside info they had at the time. If anything, you should be thanking Herbie for doing that, or you wouldn't have had a coach to give so much attention to and wouldn't have had all those "damn strong" comments to make the last couple of years.

Did you not read AU, LSU, and other fans loving Saban for this interview in this very thread?

Not just Alabama fans liked this little dance. Rivals who normally hate his guts were loving it, too.

They were obviously trying to build a David vs Goliath trend and I think Saban had it right. Why can't it be Goliath vs Goliath?

Honestly when I watched that interview it seemed like Saban was just using the guys to speak directly to his team. Saban doesn't really care about chewing those guys out but I think he wanted to send a message to his team by putting the guys in their place and making it out to be a even matchup

This. There is no wasted or misdirected effort with Saban. His words were directed at his team.

So reporting Miles to Michigan right before the national championship game was not trying to force the issue?
Just good ole reporting huh?

Hey, I understand why you're all over sabans nutts.
I've seen all the old people wearing crimson suits and dresses in the dairy queen in Tuscaloosa on Sundays.
Not much else to do.

There used to be a Dairy King in Cottondale. I don't think there is one in Ttown anymore.

Man, a M&M blizzard would hit the spot right now.

I recall folks being all over Miles and how he was being sucked off, because yall had the best O-line he's ever had. And of course.. that is one area Saban faltered, he left yall's o-line in horrible shape, he didn't know how to recruit linemen. But the love given to Miles was unquestioned. Keep on thinking what u do though.
