And that was made to a coach WHO DIDN'T YET HAVE A NC ON HIS RESUME. Do you see the difference between Saban's resume when Bama hired him and when LSU did? What about his level of pay at the time of both hires? See any correlation? How about the salary of Stoops when hired compared to now? Miles pre and post championship?
For that matter, look up the salary of Kirk Ferrintz.
Your salary argument is weak.....

You are sooo full of shite. Naw, he just skipped over to A&M and BAMA fans were irate for a looong time. Some still are.A lot of Bama fans started a short lived little love affair with Sooner fan over an offseason or two... just so they could have some sort of connection to Fran getting his arse kicked in the Big 12.
Hell, you frickers even gave death threats to your own coach for God's sake.... so stop preaching to us.

quote:When Nick was hired at LSU all he had proven was that he could win. He did it everywhere he went. I'm sure he took a pay cut to coach at LSU {Sarcasm}. Now, while at LSU, he resurrected a sleeping giant program. He then won an SEC title at a program that hadn't done that in a while. He then won a national title at a program that hadn't done it since the coach was born (He might have been a baby). At that point he had proven 3 times how good of a coach he was in the big time SEC. So when Bama hired him, they weren't hiring a proven winner, like LSU did. They hired a proven CHAMPIONSHIP winner. There is a little bit of a difference.
Nicks outrageous salary is all up front, no need to win a NC or anything like that to be the highest paid...

You've spit out so much garbage you can't recall what you said anymore....
Remember this statement, made by YOU which started our conversation:
quote:
Deep down they feel guilty for having Saban as their coach. I mean, deep down they know that it's a little sad that a program of the magnitude of BAMA would have to pay as much as they did
So, STFU, because your salary argument AND your attempts to deflect are weak.
BTW, what did you find out about Kirk Ferentz's salary when you googled him?

Pretty selective way of looking at it. We are currently 14-13-1 against LSU since 1980. Not what I would call a difinition of owning anyone.
Now, I don't think you want to go there about who wins in the other's stadium. You didn't fair so well against us (IN BR) until our coach took over your program. Just sayins all (Plus I want this thread to reach 25 pages).
Since 1980 we've only lost to Bama in Tuscaloosa OR B'Ham in '80, '90, '92, '95, '99 ... That's pretty good and definitely not a new thing.
I'll always respect the little man for getting us over that little hump in 2000.

That is an absolute fact. Anyone who thinks Bama is sitting around talking about Fran even 1/100th of the time time LSU talks about Saban is kidding themselves. Even if Fran came to an actual rival, like Tennessee, it wouldn't be as bad as what I see here on a daily basis.
First off, I completely agree there is way too much dislike for Saban around here. He did great things for LSU and although he jumped ship for a shot at the pros I appreciate him for what he did... not hate him for leaving sooner than people would have liked
I have a harder time with the analogy to Fran though... I don't think it terribly comparable... a better comparison might have been if Gene Stallings had left Alabama to go to LSU or Auburn after 1992

Yes now this would have been gross. However, it would be more like Stallings leaving Bama to go to Arkansas. They weren't a rival near as big as AU or TN much the same way Bama and LSU were. Arky would be HATED by Bama if this had happened.

Geez, I didn't Google that shite. Who cares. I know most of the big salaries, it doesn't matter to me or to my argument that Bama fans have been acting real weird lately towards LSU fans. I happen to think it is due to you guys feeling guilty. Don't hate on me.

Technically, he was a loser at the last place he coached and quit on in Miami.

Then refute them....
Should be easy if I'm so "unintelligent & poorly educated"....
I imagine it would fall into the "Saban is a liar" or "Bear is dead" category, which is the cognitive equivalent of "you're a doodoo head"...

By the way BG, you think USC regrets hiring their loser coach in Carrol. How about you guys? Miles was tearing it up in the Big 12 prior to you hiring him right?

Never said you guys regret it (yet), just feel guilty, at least that's what a lot of Bama fans actions seem to indicate.
