There’s a reason he was mentioned about the job.
Until he or Saban says he isn’t taking the job then we have to assume they’ve approached him and he’s thinking about it.
He’s heard the rumor by now so the ball is in his court.

And if he was approached, he’d be foolish not to consider it.

His ND profile doesn’t mention his undergraduate degree either.

It says coaching career. However, I didn’t think you be a graduate assistant unless you were attending school. He probably was trying to get a masters then took the NFL job and said frick it.

That OP got facts wrong and used links all rehashing information from the same source reporting that Rees would be a good replacement as proof that “rumors were swirling that Rees is taking the NW job.”
And completely missed this snippet from the original source.

If Rees does garner interest from Northwestern, it likely won’t be until near the end of the 2023 season. According to Feldman, Northwestern is expected to have an interim coach this season before “ramping up” its search in November.

Northwestern has historically been a competitive program in the Big Ten.
That's from one of the articles. And it's not true.
All these journalists out here propping up their fellow journalism school.

All your links are using Feldman as a source. Who clearly stated Rees could be considered for the job NEXT YEAR.

Yes. If he performs well at Bama this season then NW will probably come knocking.

Northwestern is expected to name defensive coordinator David Braun as their acting head football coach after the firing of Pat Fitzgerald on Monday, according to a new report. Per ESPN’s Pete Thamel, who was one of the first to report on the firing, Braun will be named the interim coach in the near future:

Yea I don’t think there’s enough time. I panicked when I saw the amount of articles reporting on it.

Saban already looking for a new job for Tommy boy? Not a good sign.

Damn man. Even after your edit, you’re still making unsupported claims all over Bruce Feldman speculating who would be a good replacement.

Rees was one of several potential coaches mentioned by The Athletic’s Bruce Feldman on Tuesday.
Take a lap and try again tomorrow.

I’ve seen Mike Kafka mentioned quite a bit too.

Time to dust off the old FootballScoop coaching news link. If something is happening, it will break there first.
