The point is that I had no idea that 1/3 of MLB baseball managers make less than $1mm

I think Snitker (NL manager of the year) makes $800k.

Cause you started it off by saying if butch didn’t go to State I don’t think he would go to FSU. I don’t recall us specifically going after Butch. I remember Shloss and McD being our targets. And we took Cohen from Kentucky. That’s why I included that.

I would hate that for Auburn. Butch seems like a good fit there. I really enjoyed listening to his introductory press conference at the CWS. Seems very relatable. He has certainly done a fantastic job.

Here's a recent article on college baseball coaching salaries. I believe this was posted a few days ago. It answers a lot of the OP's questions.

Top college baseball coaches make major-league money; at least nine at $1 million or more

Nice and thanks very much Cornelius, Many thanks.

It’s cool. He was mistaken. Butch is a great dude and a great coach. He would have done great here. I just don’t think we want to be THAT school. (Looking at you frickers in Gainesville)

More importantly I don’t think Butch will be the kind of coach to bail on the first school to give him a shot at head coach either. He’s going to be at Auburn

FSU needs to go after the Meechigan coach. There’s no need for the B1G to have anyone great at coaching baseball. We need to keep title chances out of the north.

"There are rules, Dude."

Why do people get their panties in a bunch when their school is turned down? There are many reasons why it happens. Its not a slight on a particular school or program.

MSU is a demonstratively better baseball program than Auburn right now. Butch - I think - has two daughters at AU attending school. I mean, do I even have to complete the sentence? What would you do? If you know Butch Thompson, and I know the MSU folks do, you stay at maybe an inferior place for baseball.

That's it.

We pay Bianco I think $1.125 million, and it’s about $1 million too much.

Did you ever go to games before Bianco? He has accomplished a LOT at Ole Miss. Unfortunately for Ole Miss, he just doesn't seem to be the guy to take you to the next level. Maybe FSU will steal him from you and make it easy.

Lemonis was a sitting HC and I’m sure was suggested by McDonald who was too scared to leave the safe confines of the the ACC. “Dick Pics” Cannizzaro was the “no one”who came out of nowhere.

Bianco’s Only shortcoming is he can’t duplicate State. OM wants to be the premiere program in Mississippi and that will never happen unless they can win a NC before we do. It will be very difficult for any team from Alabama or Mississippi to win it as we are at a unfair schollie advantage. The way to nullify that advantage is to build facilities where the best players want to play. State has definitely cast the die with the new Dufy Noble Field. OM has also made large strides with their player facilities at Swayze. We’ll see if this pans out. Florida had every opportunity to one-up us and they aren’t even attempting it, so it looks like they feel confident that their scholarship advantage is all they need.

I think Corbin had more interest in us than we had in him. In the end I think he realizes he can’t win at same level without having unlimited scholarships. He seems to be very tired of your facilities.

Not only do you have state tax, Auburn has a city tax on income as well.

Think UGA is paying Stricklin around 600k/year? IIRC he doesn't even have an agent, and hasn't really been particularly interested in driving his salary upwards thus far...
