No idea if its true. If he didn't go to MSU last year I don't think he'd go there. Not the point.

The point is that I had no idea that 1/3 of MLB baseball managers make less than $1mm, and that AU is paying him upwards of $1mm. Its not my money, so that's fine by me.

What is Arky, MSU, LSU, Vandy paying their baseball coaches?

And Ole Miss, really everyone in the SEC. No slight intended.

You'll be paying Bohannon the same or similar once he lights things up at Bama, which he will.

Mainieri is over $1 million, close to $1.2 but that was only after he leveraged interest from the Texas opening two years ago. At the time, Mainieri mentioned that might take him to the end of his contract and he might retire at that point.

If it was Mike Martin Jr I would guess FSU could have made that move months ago just to ease the transition for recruiting as well.

I think FSU can do better than Butch. Somebody like Schlossnagle maybe.

We pay Bianco I think $1.125 million, and it’s about $1 million too much.

I would hate that for Auburn. Butch seems like a good fit there. I really enjoyed listening to his introductory press conference at the CWS. Seems very relatable. He has certainly done a fantastic job.

Here's a recent article on college baseball coaching salaries. I believe this was posted a few days ago. It answers a lot of the OP's questions.

Top college baseball coaches make major-league money; at least nine at $1 million or more

The SEC is legit AA baseball and SEC schools pay their coaches like major league managers. That is my takeaway.

I have no idea who FSU will hire obviously. I think you're correct on if it was Martin Jr. it would've been announced a long time ago.

The FSU is an attractive job for no other reason than no state income taxes in FL. That's alot of $.

I'm surprised our baseball coach is the highest paid in the country. Guess Stricklin ain't a chip bastard like Foley.

I don’t think the offer was ever extended to Butch Thompson from State. I’m not saying he isn’t a great coach. State just doesn’t do douchebag things like that for no reason. Cohen played at State before Kentucky fans start chirping.

C'mon dude. He's built the whole thing. I want to be soaked in beer in the outfield as an opposing fan because of Bianco. Just like Corbin and Vandy. Ole Miss baseball is legit every year in the SEC West and nationally.

What? This has nothing to do with MSU specifically. There are not many UK posters here - and I'm glad they're here, BTW - I'll leave it at that.

I just realized that I don't know what the frick you're talking about. Are you responding to the right post?
