3. The money for the trip has been reimbursed.
How much was the trip? I call bs on a college athlete just having a shite ton of money to go on big trips. If they had the money why didn't they just pay for it up front. The story is basically saying they were given a loan by someone. You can only assume the guy didn't mind it since they were athletes. How do we know they would have paid him back had they not been caught. Maybe the guy was helping them out knowing that down the road they will be pro athletes. What is the connection with the guy's daughter? Is she dating one of these guys? If so it sounds like he trying to help his family get rich.
IMO they are going to have to be punished pretty badly since you can only assume the worst from the NCAA stand point.

it's becoming pretty clear it was an AU booster. Keep wishing Julio won't be burning PP again this year.

gonna post this on every page since it says it all.
"will someone do a quick sum up of these 5 pages for me?

Julio and Mark are friends with two Auburn girls, whose father happens to be an Auburn booster, and owner of Eagle Supply on the Gulf Coast. There are plenty of pictures out there to confirm that. This has nothing to do with Alabama, Auburn, or anyone else for that matter cheating, or setting Alabnama up. This has to do with the players' amateur status. Once they recieve extra benifits, no matter who its from, they are automatically in the wrong. The only way Alabama is endangered is if they play those players, but the AD is well aware of the situation, and the proper measures are being taken. So, rushing to conclusions, and proclaiming, that 'Bama boosters are "running Saban out of town" is just plain stupid, but go ahead and root for Georgia if you want."

It was a fishing trip, the guy can charge whatever he wants. I'm guessing the minimal charge would be for gas, which I'm guessing is what they probably paid.

If that is the case no big deal; however, if it was several hundred dollars or more then it is a big deal.
I didn't say Bama would get penalized I just meant the players.

but.... It was early May, I bet..

I checked out that link and Tide-HSV referenced photos, but he never gave anything other than "they are on a paysite." Then he locked the thread. This rumor has been floating around for a while now, and anyone who doesn't think a picture would have slipped out of the "iron-clad grasp" of a non-named "pay-site" is crazy.

cool. sorry i sounded pissy then. trust me, even though i'll forever carry the Bama standard, it can get old to hear folks so ravenously after your heads.

also, with the textbook thing, "lack of institutional control" comes into the forefront
There would be tons of pressure from opposing conferences to make an example of an SEC school.
That way they can say, "sure they are better than us, but that's because they are all clearly cheating."
quote:It most certainly would, if a resolution to that matter has indeed been reached.
if this rumor is true, could this situation possibly have delayed the textbook penalty announcement?

but the fact is, the reason this thread or accusation has gotten any steam at all is a perfect example of how badly people are afraid Bama is back.
Afraid, really????
I think the idea of kids getting in trouble for going fishing is rediculous, assuming they actually went fishing with their friends and weren't out partying on a yacht with strippers and cocaine on some booze cruise (which sounds much more fun by the way).... but your statement is even more rediculous. Whatever makes you sleep better at night buddy.
Maybe, just maybe, this has more to do with there being nothing better to talk about in the offseaon. Afraid, really???

Go here LINK and read this thread, and pay attention the posts by Tide-HSV, he's the only one that really knows whats going on. He's a mod. Tidefans mods never let rumors stay on the board, much less the mods never post them, ever!
Tide-HSV is quite possibly the biggest gump douchebag in existence. He's much like CPA. I'd take everything he says with a grain of salt.
On this topic, it would not shock me for him to have some good info. But when it comes to football.. you'll learn more by listening to fricking finebaum compared to tide-hsv.

If it's a one game suspension.. who's going to bet that it's not for the season opener against VT?
Oh well, if they are suspended for that game.. and Bama loses.. queue up the excuse machine.

I'm just being logical man.... I'm not exactly sure why you are getting so worked up. I just think its funny that because this is being discussed its because the rest of the SEC is scared of Bama.
If we go by your logic there will definitely be a Florida Gator "gone fishing" story posted here in the next few minutes.
Again, I could care less how this turns out.
