Meridian is one of those mid-size cities that has been overwhelmed by culture. Gangs and thugs in the streets. Meridian High School has turned into an inner city school. 20 years ago, it was pretty respectable.

Meridian has more gang related violence than any other city in MS, despite being only the 5th or 6th largest town.

That is unfortunate. Years ago, I went down to Jackson for an interview. First time I had ever been there. Didn't know anything about it. Director told me there were bullet holes in their lab, but a new one was being built in Brandon or Flowood. Looking back, I am glad I didn't get the job.

Flowood and Brandon seemed OK. Someone I went to high school with lives in Yazoo City. He apparently really likes it there.
