and LSU were in the East we would have won that division by now, look at the shellacking we gave those guys last year.

LSU can’t even beat uf.

What has that got to do with what you said? Are you under the impression that Georgia is the only team in the east?

But, we went 1-1 against the west in the regular season. but, I guess you can always ride Alabama's accomplishments and try to make them your own, if you want. Take Georgia (east winner) and Alabama (West winner) out of the equation and it gets worse.

Look, dude. You're the one that wanted to make the h2h comparison. Don't blame me if it blows up your argument.

We were too busy beating UGA to worry about UF. They have our full attention this year

Dude, you have to understand, I was not a fan of the Orgeron hire. Kirby was definitely the better hire on paper, as was Herman at Texas. Hot young prospects vs a washed up mediocre position coach.

At the time, I thought it was a bad hire. I guess our opinion has changed.

quote:

Kirby has UGA loaded with talent and playing at a very high level, but hasn't won the game that matters.
All well and good, but if you are going to hold that against Kirby why is it not fair to hold it against Orgeron? And Kirby won the SECCG. That matters in my book. He won a playoff game. That matters in my book.

Like I said...it is too close to call right now. They are both doing very, very well, and have their teams playing great. But...they are both early in their tenure. I couldn't put one over the top right now.

quote:

So like I said, different goal posts. UGA is in the spot of needing to win a title, and LSU is in the spot of needing to change philosophy without collapsing.
Might seem unfair, but I think it's how both will get judged.

We'll have to agree to disagree, then....and that's okay. If Orgeron doesn't win the SEC and go to the playoffs, then the edge would have to go to Kirby.
Miles won a NC. You have to compare their accomplishments to their predecessor for the purpose of this thread. Again...we will just have to agree to disagree.

Y’all are all idiots, if LSU played in Georgia’s division we’d have at least the same credentials as Georgia

Prove it.

You can't?
Well, it must be a fact, then.

Maybe you should pay attention to Alabama, then. If you had beaten them you would have played for the SEC Championship.

Whoops. You lost to Texas A&M, too. Who were you paying attention to when A&M was beating you?

But O can Beat Texas so there's that!

Lets compare games that don't matter. Sugar Bowl vs Music City Bowl. Which counts more?

Against Auburn. LSU has to go through Alabama every year to even get to the SECCG. How has UGA fared against Alabama since Saban took over?

But if you want to compare Smart to O, look at what UGA fans themselves were saying about how it was coached. Most of the Georgia fans I know think that Smart just magically stopped running the ball and started throwing it. As if he just got bored with picking up yards on the ground. Even Smart's own fans seem to think he's stupid.

Personally, I think Smart stopped running the ball due to defensive adjustments made by Aranda, but UGA fans seem to disagree it had anything to do with LSU. Smart just wasn't very smart.

Both are meaningless bowl games, so they count the same.

In order to prove their argument they have to live vicariously through other teams because ED O and the Tigahs went in deep, Mandingo style

Not sure what it matters, though. You saying LSU has a hard time getting up for Notre Dame?
Wasn't that the second time Notre Dame beat LSU in a bowl game?

Same as LSU....except we can scor on Bama, so there's that.

Makes perfect sense. You would think with all that gread adjusting you could score on Alabama.

I still don't think LSU gets the tie-breaker in 2017. It would've been 3-ways, Auburn-Alabama-LSU, I think Auburn wins that tie-breaker having the best cross-divisional wins in UGA and Mizzou (LSU beat UF and UT, Bama beat UT and Vandy).

My point stands, it's tougher to get through Alabama than anyone in the East to get to Atlanta. Duh.
