I agree, but it’s not like Coach O or Miles or Kirby are not good individuals (I truthfully don’t know much about any of the 4 and neither do most others).

Miles met the team potential moreso than Richt did; keep in mind UGA had some insanely talented teams, but was the lone Big 6 program to not win a BCS title. UGA's SEC champs under Richt never played for a title, surpassing Auburn in the "oh, by the way" category.
Kirby has been an upgrade over that.

Miles did win the big game once and played for it again. He won the SEC a couple times. O has not matched that yet.

Long term, who knows? Hate to say this, but Kirby's in danger of continuing the Georgia tradition of fielding really great teams that don't win it all, while O appears to be raising LSU a notch each season. We'll see if Burrow finishes this year out with the promise he's shown, and if LSU can continue this offense after he leaves. But if the answer to those 2 questions are "yes", I might give O the nod over Kirby in 2 years.

Please. He's in year number 4 and already won a SECC.Something CMR couldn't do in his last 10 years and also played for a NC...again something CMR never accomplished.

But let's just remember how fortunate LSU was just to get to the NC in '07. You guys lost to
2 unranked teams and 4 or 5 teams lose the last week of the season. Congrats to Les though. He took advantage of the opportunity and beat OSU.

Hey, Georgia looks damn good. But let's not forget, Georgia looked damn good in the past, and somehow never got it done all the way. 2003, 2005, 2007, 2011, 2012... are there more? You can add 17 and 18 into that list.

Like I said, Kirby has to break through, or it's just another year you could have, but didn't.

As for what O has done- LSU's biggest bugaboo has been the stone age offense. Looks like he's gonna expel that. It's not just Burrow, it's the scheme- you don't need an NFL QB to run what LSU's running this year.

I'd go Georgia. Both have done well though.

If I'm a homer, I say UGA. If I'm realistic I say UGA.
As 'bad' as LSU was perceived with all the talent they had, Miles still brought home the Championship.

We can't say that at UGA...yet. Kirbs is getting us there...

LSU's biggest bugaboo

Has been beating bama and winning the west. Kirby had UGA’s best season in 40 years. Can the same be said about O?

Rock solid logic here since the two divisions are equal and we have no h2h results to compare the two with

UGA was a great team regardless of what division they were in, in 2017. Miles won a natty and Richt never played for one. Not hard to see Smart took UGA further. The only way O can top Miles is by winning 2 natties. Miles set the bar higher than Richt.

Miles won a Natty. O hasn't won a division.

So far Kirby is easily the bigger upgrade.

One plays in the east and the other in the west. If LSU was in the east, they would be right where Georgia is. Hell, Smart can’t beat Saban either.

Obviously both new coaches have won a bunch of huge games. Both fanbases are 100% behind the new guy.

Which team made the bigger upgrade?

Hard to say right now. Both teams are doingvery, very well. LSU is looking really good so far this year, but I'd prefer to see how the teams look at the end of the year. Maybe LSU still looks great....or maybe Georgia comes on and looks great at the end.

It would seem Orgeron was a great pickup, though. LSU got a great fit for their program.

Urban. He would pimp Shelly out to coach at Bama.

Oh yeah, 36-16.

True. But the loss to Troy kind of balances it out.

Both seem to be doing well...but if you are going to hold Kirby up for future results don't you think you should do the same to Orgeron?

I think this is a good question and a fair one. Unfortunately, there is no easy answer to it. Both seem to have their programs headed in the right direction. now they have to break through.
