“That was pretty cool,” Blake’s father, Sonny Sims, said of getting a phone call from Richt on Monday. “Coach Richt has been part of Blake’s life for a long time. We’ve got pictures of Blake with Coach Richt as a 9th grader. That’s why we couldn’t understand why Georgia didn’t snag him early because he’d been groomed all his life for Georgia. Everything in our house was Georgia. We were shocked when Blake committed to Alabama. It just happened. He didn’t even give me a chance to talk to him about it. He just did it. But he did and we’ve got a good relationship now with Coach [Nick] Saban. So it’s a tough situation.”
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

quote:

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
“Here’s what we’re dealing with: The parents a love Coach Richt,” Sonny Sims said. “Blake loves coach Richt. We’ve known him for four years and we think he’s the perfect man for our child to live with for the next four years. But we also raised Blake to believe that his word is his bond. And Coach [Nick] Saban is an honorable man, too. So Blake gave his word on one side but his heart is on the other side.”
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

quote:

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
“I know one thing that’s going to happen: He IS going to sit down and talk to Coach Richt,” Sonny Sims said. “That’s got to happen because half of the things we raised Blake on were from things Coach Richt said.”

he will go to UGA if he gets a firm offer in which Bama fans will say they lost interest in him and told him to get lost to make room for someone named alf.

FYI Richt won't be there for 4 more years . If he leaves i'm sure we'll get some other 4 star recruit to fill in like always.

LSU won the National Championship with losses to Arkansas and Kentucky. Maybe Auburn can too.

Nice Lache pic! Here's one where he looks a little mean:

Sounds like Saban might get Sabaned here. "i am committed to LSU" "I AM NOT GOING TO BE THE COACH AT ALABAMA". Saban is about to get a dose of his own shite.

Who can blame someone for that, if he grew up a Georgia fan. Yet, you'll get your rocks off anyway. Regardless, many people thought Bowman would flip after Georgia came calling last year, but he didn't.

Rossville is alot further from Athens then Gainesville. If his family being at every game is important he could switch. But I think that would be the only reason.

Blake isn't going anywhere, bank on that.

Besides, y'all are right. If he decides to go elsewhere, the best of luck to him. We'll still have a top 5 class and have someone just as good take his spot.

Do you guys not realize that?

Yes but losing a kid that has been committed since last April is never a good thing IMO

i watched the sims kid in one of his games this year. He really looked solid. he probably will think over this carefully and then decide where he goes based on playing time. After watching the dogs quarterback stuggle a little i don't think he is a slam dunk to bama. it would be shitty if he decommitted.

I have never heard of him and don't care if he signs with ya'll or Georgia. Just saw it on the AJC site and thought it was interesting that Richt is trying to recruit him now.

Yesterday they had an article about Kiffin going after Georgia recruits who think Martinez is going to get canned. Less than 24 hours later the same publication is saying Richt is going after another teams recruits.

Seems like it is already becoming a crazy recruiting year. Thought the rest of the SEC might be interested.

Isn't he supposed to be a DB in college? If so, Alabama would be a better decision for his future. Saban is one of the best DB coaches in the country and can get him to the NFL. UGA's DBs are fricking terrible and obviously aren't receiving good coaching. But if UGA is where his heart is, then best of luck to him.

I think that may be the only reason he would think of decommitting.

But I seem to recall him saying that he's not concerned about the competition for QB here, not with P. Sims, Star, AJ, etc.

Good kid, though, regardless.

Haven't heard much from him lately, but in the offseason he was getting high praise. He's got tremendous accuracy and pretty good quickness getting the ball off.

He's a beanpole though, they were feeding him jars of Peanut Butter daily last I heard, to fatten him up. Good kid though, has nice leadership skills.

Just wondering why Richt is going after a 3 star QB prospect at this point unless he is concerned about depth with our current lineup. Sims is a small version of 4 stars we already have, Logan Gray and Aaron Murray. We also have Mettenburger (6'5") who is obviously more of a pro-style QB.
