Nope, but having lived in other places than Arkansas I know for sure what a nice town or city looks like. Little Rock is a town that is broke, has terrible race relations, and has an education system that prepares students for nothing.

How about that...I've lived outside of Arkansas too!
I find LR a nicely sized town, with friendly people and good access to restaurants, shopping and outdoor activities. Maybe if you wouldn't be such an arse to everyone, you'd find that you'd enjoy it more too!

OK...
1. I don't know many cities that aren't broke these days. Do I agree with the way the city government is run? No, but I find it really doesn't make that much of a difference in my day-to-day life.
2. What would you consider good race relations in a southern city? I personally feel LR gets a bad rap here.
3. I know lots of people (including family) who have graduated from LR schools, all have gone on to higher education and successful careers. Anyone can get a good education if they apply themselves.
So we've reached the point where an IKEA (I assume that's what you're going for there) is the hallmark of a great city?

If you have ever been to an IKEA you'd be changed for life. Otherwise keep on trucking.

Absolutely! All the things you mentioned definitely need work, and I don't pretend to have all the answers. I just don't think LR on the whole is as bad as some people make it out to be. Someone can carve out a pretty nice life here, if they want.

Damn shame on the Ikea, no shortage of bars I've noticed. Bet we've met. No big deal you all will have been rid of me soon. Also this thread has got creepy since we took it over.
