If Arkansas fans would take a step back and look at this....it could help the Razorbacks.
What does the city of little rock want? Money and games played in War Memorial.
There only way of any legit income from that stadium is the Razorbacks twice a year. This bowl will generate revenue for the city and they will be happy. If the bowl is successful, 5+ years later it could be a better bowl with better teams which means more fans and money.
This is great for the Razorbacks and it puts it one step closer to moving all games out of LR and into Fayetteville.

I love the NWA-Little Rock hate fests that occur in these threads.

Ah, you missed the good ole days when Daddy Frank dropped the bomb on LR and announced games were moving. I lived in Arkansas during all that and the whole state was amp'd up...except maybe some parts of Jonesboro.

My sister-in-law, who never attended the U of A and who lives just outside LR said once: "Y'all have enough going on up there, y'all need to let us have a few down here" about the LR games.
I appreciate that there is enough statewide support for the University of Arkansas that it matters enough to get people really fired up, but I hate that mentality. That "we deserve to have games here" mentality is what we're up against.
So much of the anger, IMO, comes from a segment of Central Arkansas viewing NWA as "uppity" in a sense. LR people in general, it seems, take a lot of pride in being the "main metro" of the state, and feel threatened. On the flipside, I bet your average NWAer rarely thinks about Little Rock.
Things like the location of the school and better stadium are meaningless to that segment of people. Its about metro pride for them, and that part is really, really one-sided.

I used to live in Little Rock. It's a cool town. That plus NWA are pretty underrated parts of the country. The rest? ehhhhhh...

Ok, here is the condensed truth.
LR and southeast Arkansas TOTALLY carried the UofA for 80 years. They deserve credit for doing so.
Now NWA can pull it's own weight. It's time to have the games on campus and for LR and southeast Arkansas to accept the fact, this was actually their goal from the beginning.

My dad lived in LR from 97 until the year before last so I'm glad this is going away now. I would go visit him for thanksgiving then go to the game the next day every other year. It was perfect. At this point though I'm glad I finally get to go to Fayetville.

Sure. A point that pisses me off is that people down south pretend like people in NWA aren't really Arkansans. That somehow, we're all from Chicago or Dallas and "new money" types.
The truth is, most of the people who have moved to NWA the past 30 years are from other parts of Arkansas, self included. As SE Arkansas has lost population, a good segment of that shift has been people moving north and west. There are tons of people in NWA with roots in SE and Central Arkansas.
There is a higher percentage of out of state transplants in NWA, but most are still people who lived elsewhere in Arkansas first.

Someone needs to tell LR & central Ark that this ship sailed long ago...decades ago.
