4. Sugar Bowl - Arkansas' only shot at a BCS bowl is by beating LSU. The players and coaches all believe they will be going if they win.
It depends on the outcome of the Iron Bowl.

Worst user name ever.
Gives me the same nauseous feeling I get when I go into a chain restaurant and see "Cajun yada yada" on the menu and I know they just threw some cayenne pepper on it and pronounced it "Cajun".

I no more claim some douchebag named bayoulsucajun than I claim the faux Cajun dishes on chain restaurant menus.

It may not be a rivalry to LSU, but it's a HUGE game to Arkansas,
Indeed.
Which is why you've swamped the SEC Rant with nonstop Piggie Postings.
I don't expect to win this game.
And I'm not going to lose any sleep over it. We weren't expected to win 10 games this year. Everything from here on out is lagniappe.
All I ask for on Saturday is for our team to give it the best they've got. Miles always keeps the team in the game and so long as he does, I'll be happy. Our defense is stout so we should have a shot to steal it late if we can hang close. But if we don't, so be it. Can't win 'em all in the 4th quarter.
But right now, I'm a lot more focused on the Iron Bowl (as the entire nation will be) than I am on the Piggies in Little Rock. LSU will continue to be a damn strong football team but it's up to Bama to carry the banner for the rest of the SEC and stop The Barn from pulling a U$C.

1. Bobby Petrino - Petrino is still hated by the media (and Falcons fans alike), 3 years removed from his abrupt departure from the falcons, but his coaching skills have brought steady improvement every year he's been at arkansas, including beating LSU 1 out of 2 times. His only two losses this year were to a #1 ranked (at the time) Alabama, and Auburn, who is currently #2.
Well we beat that same Alabama team who was at one point #1. Doesnt really matter whether they had that ranking when you played them or not.
quote:
2. Joe Adams - Adams is a great punt and kick returner as well as a playmaker on offense. Peterson doesn't even need to waste his time trying to cover Adams.
Got mad respect for this dude after last year when he and Jones blew each other up and then he got up and caught the go ahead TD. However PP will shut him down. So far PP has shut down everyone but Julio and that little white dude from Penn St? Got mad respect for the dude, but PP will be on him like flys on shite.
quote:
3. Powerful Offense - The only other team in the league that has more offensive productivity than Arkansas is Auburn, which, coincidentaly, beat LSU on 10/23.
Yea but gues which 2 teams gave LSU the most trouble on D. THe ones with spread/option systems and mobile QBs. Arkansas has niether of those whic plays right into LSU D hands. THey have been very good against the pro-style O this year.

4. Sugar Bowl - Arkansas' only shot at a BCS bowl is by beating LSU. The players and coaches all believe they will be going if they win
Kinda goes both ways so same can be argued for LSU
quote:
5. Overtime against MSU - Showed Arkansas that even on the road, playing a team that had as much emotional build-up as that game (last home game for MSU, and first home game since Nick Bell passed away), they came through all of that and still won. I think any team would have had their hands full playing that team on that day. This proves that UA takes every game seriously, and will play their hearts out against anyone.
Wait you went to OT against them?
quote:
6. Jake Bequette - I hope Jefferson is ready to get rocked by Jake, because it will happen multiple times.
Ill take Nevis against your freshman center any day of the week. Mallet is gonna have his arse in the turf alot; whether he is stil holding onto the football or not.
quote:
7. Jordan Jefferson - He looked "good" against a horrible UM team last week. Arkansas' defense is much better than Ole Miss', and they will show it by getting at least 2 picks from Jefferson.
Uh common opponents beg to differ. Auburn scored 60+ on you guys. On that "much inferior" Ole Miss D they put up 51. Sure you could argue well thats because they had to keep scoring because we were closing on the score board. However if your D was that much better than Ole Miss you should have stopped them.
quote:
8. Special Teams - Arksansas' special teams have shown improvement as the year has progressed. Punter (Breeding) and place kicker (Hocker) are both young, but very good. Joe Adams returning punts is a threat to score every time he touches the ball.
LSU owns you here no matter what you say. The only way you win the special teams battle is if LSU decides to leave the Sp Tm in Baton Rouge.
quote:
9. Ryan Mallett - Mallet is the best Pro-style QB in the country. He is NFL ready, and if he leaves after this year, he wants to go out guns blazing. A trip to the Sugar Bowl (with a W) will put a nice little cherry on top of his collegiate career.
Which is exactly why he wont be sucessful against LSU. LSU wont have to worry about him runnig away and Nevis, Matheui(sp), Mingo, etc... will all be able to tee off on him all night. LSU secondary is good enough to stay with Arkys recievers(expecially with Childs out) long enough to get alot of coverage sacks. We just cant hurt Mallet cause your back up scares me more than mallet does.
quote:
10. Battle for the Boot - Arkansas loves this game. The fans will be loud, and LSU will feel the affects of it. It may not be a rivalry to LSU, but it's a HUGE game to Arkansas, and that might just make the difference. The crowd will play the 12th man without a doubt.
Pretty sure its just as big a game for both teams. You may be loud, but the swamp and JH were louder. Its a huge game to us too, so you dont have to worry about it just being huge to Arky. LSU has been battle tested throughout the year, War Memorial stadium will be nothing new. And home field advantage does not play nearly as big of a role late in the season as it does early.

1. And Petrino has how many SEC or national titles exactly?
2. Adams is a very good player no doubt. Peterson says he looks forward to covering him. Sheppard and Ridley will now be playing on the LSU kickoff team which will get lots of action Saturday. They look forward to tackling Mr. Adams as well.
3.You're not Auburn.
4.LSU has the same motivation to win. Guess that's a tossup.
5.Having to go to overtime to defeat a team LSU pummelled is proving exactly what?
6.I hope Jake is ready to grab mostly air on Saturday.
7.Ole Miss has given up all of 46 yards per game more than Arkansas. How does that equate to Arkansas being "much better"?
8. LSU has the "best special teams player" in the nation in Jasper, according to CFN. As for Peterson, I would not take Adams over him for returns.
9.Hey, what do you know? I agree with you totally on that one. Ryan will have to seek his "cherry" elsewhere more than likely.
10. Partially agree that winning the boot means more to Arkansas, however most Tiger fans do consider Arkansas in the top 5 as for as rivalries go. And, WMS is a tough venue for visiting teams but I've witnessed LSU overcoming both the 12th man and some other good Hog teams before. One more time would not surprise most.

Yes he is. Luck will be the first QB taken in the draft. Have watched him as much as Mallett this season and he has more tools, is more polished.
