Didnt South Carolina go 0-2 against the West?

A bunch of good teams, not great teams. However, if they are overrated, and absolutely owned the East, then what does that make the East????? LOL

LOL...yes you can tell that OP is not one of the brighter bulbs in the fixture......lol....I don't think he quite gets that the West absolutely murdered the East this year, so if anything, it makes the East look even worse.
It's like a fan of a team talking shite about a team that lost, despite the fact that said team had already come into their place and beat the dogshite out of them. It's like Ole Miss talking shite about LSU....then quietly fading away....lol

Here in the Bowl Season, the SEC is 2 - 2 against the A She She and her "affiliates"
On the one hand, you have USC and UGA BEATING their All Cupcake Conference foes; yet, on the other hand, we have Moo State getting their shite kicked in and LSU losing to the Golden Domers who are in, but not "football members". Even though the Irish play a partial conference schedule.
And to be fair, SC did not get to play Arky this year...

Not nearly as overrated as the preseason rankings for USCjr.

Rather ironic thread, since A&M's thrashing of an overrated gamecocks team, followed by the aggies' subsequent run of losses against pretty-good-but-not-great West teams, is the very reason the West had our reputation inflated.

To all yall talking about the east or SC, it is true, we sucked. HOWEVER, it doesn't change a damn thing about how overrated the SECWest was this year.
It just means your strength of schedule from cross division games wasnt as strong.
Werent most of yall's OOC wins from FCS or nonPower5?
Face it, when you guys finally played ranked OOC teams, they didnt just beat yall, they whooped yall's arse.
The SECWest was Overrated this year, but how Overrated in comparison to year's past is what we are trying to figure out in the poll.

I was answering your question. A&M vs South Carolina had major implications in the national perception because it had the spotlight and hype. Then A&M losing to several West teams after looking so dominant had people believing the whole division was dominant.
Another factor was early season out of conference wins over teams considered to be tough. LSU over Wisconsin and auburn over K State, and Bama over West Virginia. Those games helped cement the belief that the SECw was dominant.
Finally, the schedule of games and the experience of teams was a big factor. Ole Miss and MSU had experienced teams, particularly at QB, and exploited the youth of some of the tougher opponents by playing them earlier in the season. Alabama had to "grow up" week by week, and was legitimately the lesser team when we played Ole Miss in Oxford...but I daresay it would be a different result today.

How fortunate were OM and MSU that they avoided UGA and Mizzou?

That might be one of the reasons as well, scheduling, but do not turn this into a scheduling thread, or the pod guy is gonna show up.
