Never realized how much Florida is like the longhorns.. Can't sell tickets to a BCS bowl?? WTF...
FYI: Gator Ticket office says road game tickets for @ LSU and @ USCe for the Gator allotment are sold out.

You can't sell 17,500 tickets to a bowl game in a neighboring state.
Florida doesn't border Louisiana, dumbass.

And I guarantee that the Sugar Bowl allotment would have been sold out if it was during a weekend as well.
Midweek bowls are ridiculous.
And the fact that people love to point this out about Florida, a team that has sold out their home games every year since the 80's, is just getting ridiculous.
Florida fans are fairweather...
Florida never plays an OOC opponent outside of Florida...
Do people think Florida fans even care when they hear this whining anymore?
Just trying to get the 9 of us that post here all excitable and angry I guess.

This is ESPN's doing.
The game was on a fricking Wednesday...I wouldn't have gone either.

I'll add this to the equation. FL does not have a go to guy to rally behind such as a Tebow or Danny W or Brandon Spikes (eye gouges comments to follow).
There's very little personality or star power on the team. I think as the offense rebuilds and gets some one to step up as the leader you'll see more fan passion. Right now, to me, it's just a blah team to watch play football. Meh, the play good D and run the bowl.

I want to see more offense damnit.

You idiots are under the impression that Gator fans only live in the Panhandle???
No, I thought all Gator fans lived on the Florida - Alabama state line.
I'm from Orlando. The topic was "neighboring states" and the difference in traveling distance vs traveling to the southwest.

I'm not sure what side you are on so I'm going to wait for clarity.

Those aren't bowl games and are less than half of the Sugar Bowl allotment of tickets.

I was joking.
I'm from central Florida. It is a long drive from Orlando, Tampa, and Jacksonville over to NO but its not THAT far for a BCS bowl. (Tampa and Jax are huge Gator cities)
Someone mentioned NO being "old hat" - and another says UF sold its tickets to the LSU game in BR for this Oct - so apparently BR isn't "old hat" - UF plays here every other year.

I said NO was old hat. Wednesday game had a huge effect on attendance. None of the crew I hang with could go and there's a ton of us.
We are all with kids though so not much freedom.
Oh and LSU/UF on Sat night in BR is way more attractive than UL/UF in the Sugar Bowl on a Wed. Fact.

Its quite simple if anyone else here doesn't wanna admit it.
UF @ LSU on a Saturday afternoon/evening is a much more appealing game than a Sugar Bowl on a Wednesday against Louisville.

I agree 100% when you put it that way.
I've always thought the big in-season SEC games in SEC towns were much better and more enjoyable than bowl games.
