Also understand that the Florida fanbase isn't like the UGA or LSU or some other blueblood fanbases. When Florida football sucks, the fanbase disappears. When that happens, it is even harder to pull yourself out of the gutter. LSU for example could have back to back to back losing seasons and still sell out their stadium, just like South Carolina does year after year. Florida doesn't have that level of fanbase. Their fans are fair weather trash and the fanbase is the foundation of an athletic program. Castles made of sand.

This is what happens when you have blue balls for 40 years. Clown post.

That fact erodes the argument that Mullen was a competent HC. Unless you're intimating that beyond calling plays, Cousin Eddie had handed over all other decision-making responsibilities to someone else.

I think there are a number of big name people who aren’t really competent to run a major program without significant support from top level coordinators and/or recruiters.

Dabo, Lane and Lincoln Riley all come to mind.

Doesn’t mean they can’t win championships, but they need a strong organization around them or their deficiencies show against other elite programs.

I mean Florida has been to 5 NY6 bowls and 3 SEC championships in the last 10/12 years. We haven't been playing up to the standard fans want, but the only teams who wouldn't change places with us would be Bama, LSU, UGA and maybe Auburn in the SEC.

We also have the #3 recruiting class coming in, are playing more freshmen and sophomores than any P5 team, and have already matched the Vegas preseason win total.

We lost to the back-to-back national champions and #1 team in the nation. I really don't know why everyone is freaking out.

We sold out the Arkansas game. Fans in here are still posting, and we don't have a ton of posters in the first place. Our message boards are as active is ever. I see a ton of Gator gear here in Tampa. You don't know what your talking about.

Georgia sports fans in general are some of the most fickle fans in sports. UGA has usually been in the hunt because of a down East, fans showing up for a competitive team doesn't mean you have this great fanbase.

Tennessee fans, now we are the real masochists.
