Your “facts” are pretty much irrelevant. Bama is better in almost every single metric, including but not limited to SOS, SOR, FPI, etc.

lol at your made up “metrics”.

If Ole Miss and Bama had played, we’d have the best metric of all, but we don’t.

So the next best measure is what they did
against common opponents.

Ole miss decisively beat UGA and USC (at USC). Bama beat both, with the outcome still in doubt in the final two minutes. That fact overwhelmingly favors Ole Miss.

Bama’s decisive win over LSU and decisive loss to Oklahoma vs Ole Miss’s
OT loss to LSU and decisive win over Oklahoma - arguably a wash, but even if you say this favors Bama, it doesn’t overcome the UGA and USC results.

This of course, does not make sense, because defining an entire season of games on the 3-4 crossovers isn't a good process as it ignores 2/3 of the rest of the season. It ignores Georgia beating Texas and Clemson. It ignores Alabama losing to Oklahoma and Vanderbilt as well as beating South Carolina and Missouri. It's a silly way to compare seasons.

UGA and Bama would be neck and neck if UGA were 9-3. But they're not. The worst they can be at playoff selection time is 10-3.

That's what makes UGA have an edge over Bama.

they're not made up metrics. You can find all of the ones he referenced on espn.com. They're no different than comparable computer models used by other selection committees for other NCAA sports like RPI, NET, and ELO

Not to be a dick, but these models take all the data you want to try to analyze yourself, plug the it into an algorithm that removes human biases and it spits out a ranking. We used to have a system that did this determine the national title game. It was called the BCS

This would all make too much sense. The committee will rank based on name brand and emotion. Metrics are only used when convenient and fit whatever narrative they need tonight. Expect bama to get the spot over Miami ole miss and USC
