How exactly do you expect them to compete when they retained the entire defensive staff and were only spending $30 million per year on their roster.
Lane only had 15 years of coaching experience and a whole offseason to establish his offense with an entire offensive staff that was familiar with his system.
Pete just has it so easy. He’s only had to replace his entire offensive staff and bring in 29 new players in the portal as a first year head coach and win 4 of his first 6 games against ranked opponents.
I mean LSU lost by a touchdown on the road.
Some of you are drastically overreacting here.

Misleading score. Lsu lost the yardage game 330 to 426. Ole Miss shot themselves in the foot with missed opportunities and the Lacy injury early prevented us from pulling away further.

I mean LSU also dropped like two touchdown passes in the end zone and lost multiple players to injury.
Neither team played perfect, and LSU lost by a touchdown on the road.
It was week 3, overreactions like this are no different than LSU fans overreacting to the Clemson game.

Lost by 8 and favored by 3.5. Never led the game or came close to leading.
