It's a profit game.

That honestly reads like the type of poorly analyzed article you'd find in a school newspaper. Its effectively 5,000 words to say "my family lost its parking spot and so we dont like going to games as much and I'm going to extrapolate that to other empty seats at LSUs stadium without amy support for it whatsoever."

It's because every SEC game is on TV now so why spend the time, money, fight traffic to attend a real game. Why not just sit back in your recliner with a nice cold one and enjoy the best seats in the house.

Not to mention there are fewer night games so now the tailgating experience has shortened as well. But I don't think tailgating is the problem. It's not just TVs either. It's a combination of many things.

Everything is more expensive and caters to people willing to spend $5k before purchasing season tickets per year, including parking. UGA’s game day experience officially took a turn for the worst when North campus tailgating was all but banned and heavy restrictions put in on where you could park and how early you could set up before a string of seasons that featured maybe one or two non Noon starts.

This isnt it. SEC conference games have all been on TV since the 90s.

This kid is bitching about how hard it is to haul generators and ice chests and everything all else from the car to their "spot" as the reason for decreased attendance?

What a bunch of horseshite. It's not like people have been doing this forever, when I was in school in the 80s, very few people, if any, had generators at their tailgate, unless it was literally at their vehicle in the parking lot. Apparently people have forgotten what "tailgate" even means.

The reason I don't go to games anymore (maybe one a year now), is the actual in-game experience. When I'm at a college football game, I want to hear the college band, not a bunch of terrible music piped in and played so loudly that it's barely distinguishable through the distortion from the crappy sound system.

But mostly for me it's all the time outs - and CBS games are the WORST. At least at home when there are breaks in the action, I can do other things, but sitting in the stadium waiting for the guy in the red hat to tell everyone they can play football now is bullshite. Play should be determined by the teams and the officials, not by the sponsors. Let the sponsors work their pitches around the game, not the other way around.

To paraphrase the great Yogi Berra, nobody goes to college football games anymore, they're too crowded.

So you could watch multiple SEC games at the same time on different networks like you can today?

I’ll tell you why. Because if you wait to leave the game until the halfway point in the fourth quarter or later at LSU.... you are doomed. We went to the LSU/Florida game two years ago. We left and didn’t get to my parents’ home (23 miles away) until three and a half hours later. The flow of traffic is absolutely awful at LSU and the surrounding areas.

This. And if it's a shitty game, I can always change the channel. Replay on demand. Cheaper but better food and drinks. I'm always guaranteed a great game no matter what.

This is 100% accurate. I remember when RV's lined Sanford Drive. The walk to the game was a spectacle. Now their banished to Legion Field and have to get bused in.

There is a huge lot behind Lumpkin. Used to be free parking. And floks lined the street outside the lot. They turned the free lot into a $2500 lot and forced folks off the street for "safety reasons"....only to oversell the lot and let the $2500 guys park on the street.

Bad news for LSU fans....it ain't changing. You'll get used to it. And they are counting on that.
