But while Burrow’s not scared of the bigger stage, he does seem to be scared to make the bigger throws. Burrow attempted 61 passes against the Browns, a number only one quarterback hit last season. And yet, he threw for only 316 yards, an alarmingly low number considering the high number of attempts. Many of Burrow’s 37 completions (an NFL rookie record) came on short routes and dump-offs. Combined with a debut in which Burrow needed 36 pass attempts to total 193 yards, Burrow is averaging just 5.2 yards per pass attempt through two games. If Burrow kept that up for a whole season, it would be the worst average for a qualifying quarterback since 2010, when Jimmy Clausen averaged 5.2 yards per attempt for the 2-14 Panthers. Burrow’s average depth of target on completed passes is 4.8 yards, which would’ve finished tied for last in the NFL last season.

Wow, staggeringly bad look for a #1.

I know some who haven't watched much football may not understand this but its hard to throw downfield when you're running for your life after 0.5 seconds.

Troll post but watch the games. He doesn’t have the time for WR deep routes.

Is this coming from a fanbase that only discovered football around the year 2000?

Burrow has this board shook up. So many want him to fail so bad that y'all are turning 300 yards with 3 TDs and no picks into a bad thing. His 2nd game, 1st start on the road with no preseason.

Bammers discussing Burrow's stats because their best quarterback ever couldnt beat out a 37 year old journeyman quarterback on his eighth team.

None of our QBs was 3rd string at another school and got punked by the coach either and had to transfer because he couldn't win the starting job.

How's that working out for the QB from Alabama in the NFL? What are his numbers...oh wait...

Then once Burrow wins a few games and improves even more, if an LSU fan starts a thread about, the "insecure" responses come out.

At least he’s on the field. Can’t say the same for the QB from Bama last year. What was his name? Tuny? Limpy? Gimpy? Oh well. It was something like that.

Damn.

Imagine if that guy beat almighty Alabama while having a better season than any Bama quarterback ever.

That'd be something.

Tua is a flop too, so I don’t know why you’re yapping. Both got some good paychecks at least.
