We're not the "Rebel Black Bears". We're the Ole Miss Rebels.
"Rebel" is the bear's name.
Also, for the record, I'm still not sure why Colonel Sanders is ok to be plastered all over the country selling fried chicken (racissss), but our mascot got the axe.

Ole Miss is NOT the "Rebel Black Bears." We are the "Rebels" with a stuffed bear as the on the field mascot.

Well, if we're going to be picky, then technically he messed up some other school's mascots as well...LSU's official mascot is actually the "Fighting" Tigers, and USC's is the "Fighting" Gamecocks.
