It seems most people agree. LSU fans get the short end of the stick on this deal...

You just contradicted yourself. Unless you're too dumb to run when you hear a gunshot?

Point is, we don't have to leave Red Stick to have fun, the area around our large, spacious campus is one of the nicest in the country, and you aren't considered a social out cast if you're GDI.

I've been to Memphis a number of times. Parts of it are nice to live in, like Germantown. Beale Street is nice to see a couple of times.

Doesn't hold a candle to New Orleans, which also has everything...Tunica?...has for gambling.

We win.

But the area immediately around the LSU campus is about as good as it gets.

I hope you aren't talking about Tigerland.

No I'm talking about the sketchy areas near Alabama's campus, and a few others.

And around the country, there are college campuses where you have to be careful where you walk.

WTF dude. Can you not tell the difference in a dangerous college town and a town an hour away from a college town that is dangerous? And frick memphis. frick NOLA. Neither are SEC towns and shouldnt have anything to do with ranking them. I was just arguing your stupid point that there isnt anything around Oxford. Youre making an arse of yourself. I suggest you just go to bed

I fail to see how the area around LSU's campus is as "good as it gets" simply b/c it isn't listed in a list of the nations's worst 15. But more to your point, you know we have a pretty high number of on-campus robberies at gunpoint, right? And have you ever left campus and walked north on Highland very far? I wouldn't go much further than the wienerschnitzel without turning around in a hurry.

Oh well, I admire your tenacity in this argument

I can, you apparently can't. You brought up going there, I just pointed out the danger.

There isn't. You have to want to get to Oxford in the first place. I don't. It's by no means a straight shot from anywhere.

First off, it's "you're". And when people start calling names, they've run out of rational arguments and automatically lose.

The architecture is pretty cool, but there is a reason that a lot of visiting fans stay in New Orleans for the weekend and just commute to the tailgate/game...

BR would still have petro-chem industry. Would be a pretty lame blue collar town without LSU though.

i didn't mean size wise or business, just in terms of it being seperate from a town like Shreveport for instance.

What does this even mean? Oxford isnt a good college town because people dont just drive through it on their way to somewhere else? WTF

what name did I call you? And I dont call out grammar police because its needed on here sometimes, but getting called out for not putting ' in a word that is spelled correctly is just plain ghey

Agreed. It's the bastard child of Lafayette and New Orleans.

Link? I was looking the crime report for the LSU campus recently, and 90%+ of if it was for public drunkenness or possession of weed.

Daily Crime Report

Note that it's down right now, probably for maintenance.

your whole "rational" argument is that BR is better than Oxford because NOLA is better than Memphis.
