OP please specify that at the top of your post the first number is rank within the SEC while the second number (in parentheses) is the rank among all schools. Too many folks are confusing your number and I have to admit they even befuddled me at first. e.g. Florida is 1st in the SEC and 7th among colleges in terms of medalists.

We can go ahead and list the several on the silver medal team that lost to USSR on a controversial call.

Grevey and someone else. Also, I think Nash and Ramsey won medals on basketball Olympic teams.

No one will ever top the California schools (top 4) because they offer so many more sports like rowing, water polo, etc
