So was I. Were you the annoying LSU fan in the student section?

Nope. I was in the LSU section lower bowl as far over as you could be on the aisle where it changed to Bama fans. What was that like the 10 yard line or something? Maybe more in the endzone. For away tickets they were pretty legit.

It really is funny how you routinely show up in these threads to flame and troll OM. I could set my watch by it.

So the numbers on your watch represent months?

Well let's see, tailgating is about drinking and eating and having fun. LSU fans got the drinking crown nailed, that's a given. We also excel at having fun, but I'll concede that this is true of most other schools as well.

That leaves food. Is this really fair to compare all the different food found at at LSU tailgates compared with their SEC brethren? I'm thinking no, it's not. After all, other than LSU, and maybe Texas A&M, tailgating at the rest of the SEC schools means you have your choice between fried or grilled. And both are rather conservatively seasoned, at that. In Ole Miss's case, you can have KFC or Wal-Mart finger sandwiches. Yum!

Nope this is a no-brainer folks, LSU wins the tailgating crown hands down, with a big drop-off down to second place.

Not at mine. I always did the 3 meals a day. Started with a huge breakfast. (Eggs, bacon, sausage, grits, fruit, ham, bloody marys, etc.)

May not do it...depending on TV time. But that was usually something like Deer Chili, mashed potatoes. Smoked sausage. Along with other stuff to go with it. Homemade bread, homemade desserts. Of course several coolers of alcohol.

Dinner is usually ribs I cooked that morning and Boston Butt...pulled pork with my homemade BBQ sauce. I got up early and cooked a lot of my stuff. Or I just didn't go to bed that night before.

The Friday night before the game was a circus. Literally two sides of the street about to go Green Street Hooligans. My buddy had a place on the square next to Eli's. I relish those types of atmospheres. But they're rare.

Did he live down the hill from Proud Larry's, since I do believe Eli lived above there at the time?

KFC is even lower on the totem pole as far as Chicken is concerned. That just shows you're poor white trash if you show up in the Grove with a Colonel's bucket.

Not a better way to start a Saturday than bloody mary's at the snack bar then hitting up BBB. I'm from BR and I've eaten everywhere, but there is not a better breakfast than BBB. Also, all of my food at my tent in the Grove is straight from home. Boudin from Best Stop, duck bombs, and my grandmother's jambalaya. Hell I've even done red fish on the half shell at my tent; not everyone is out there eating Abner's. I'm partial to BR because I'm a homebody and there's more freedom to do whatever you want, but, there's enough trim in the Grove to take you all over the place.

You're fricking kidding me with that Grove shite. That is the most overrated piece of garbage land in the South. You want a beer? Better get a plastic cup. You want a keg? Think again. Drinking games? Not unless you consider having some frat daddy wearing a bow-tie fondle you while sipping box wine to be a fun game.

Everyone is pretentious as hell and crammed into a tiny spot. I don't get the fascination.

Angrily, I will accept that the girls there are hot as shite.

I always get the impression that people like you just go into the Grove screaming for everyone to impress them. You go into the Grove wanting to hate it, so you find little menial things to bitch about. I would not serve a guy like you coming up to my tent that is asking for me to impress him and see "how the best tailgating in America is". I mean Vandy has shite tailgating, but I don't insult their fans when I go over there.

I want to impress people who want to have a good time, not twats like you who bitch about the entire experience. You want a good time, we'll show it to you; but if you demand us to kiss your fat arse while repeatably insulting us and saying how LSU's tailgating is ridiculously superior and this sucks, then go frick yourself and get out of my tent.

The thing you don't realize is that the reason people treat you like shite is because you treat us like shite and demean everything about us as a team and our culture. I'm here to have a good time, not to put up with a guy deliberately trying to rain on everyone's parade. I love entertaining guests, but can't stand being around people like you.

If you have ever been to the grove you know it's overrated, it's a lot like the Junction in that we personally love it but it just doesnt compare to some other schools.

1. LSU
2. Auburn
3. Everything else.

You mean its a fricking rip off and a wannabe Grove.

2. Auburn

Really? Auburn. I'd put them second to last in the West next to yall. Granted I'm ignorant on A&M's tailgating, but from the old west, its a safe assumption.

OM - you're outta your mind, boss. I didn't say the people treated us like shite - I said the tailgating environment was shite and way overrated and listed my reasons. I've been treated very nicely there (except by drunk frat guys but thats to be expected anywhere) but to say it's the best tailgating is ridiculous.

A&M's setup is just like LSU's... its campus wide. It comes down to a matter of opinion. Numbers wise, LSU, Auburn, Alabama and A&M have far more tailgaters than Ole Miss, but if you prefer a consolidated area, then Ole Miss is going to be more enjoyable to you.

FWIW, based off of posts on my Facebook profile from Florida tailgaters and Gatorcountry posts, Florida fans unanimously agreed A&M's tailgating was a top SEC tailgating destination.

We have open flames, huge smoke trailers everywhere on campus, you don't have to hide your booze (no cups needed), they don't crack down on drinking games or apparatuses.

I'm not going to rank us because I haven't seen everyone, but I have tailgated for the biggest SEC games on LSU, Bama and Tennessee's campus.

Few snippets from Gator fans.

Yep I am very glad A&M is in the SEC..seems right.

I will say College Station was one of my favorite road trips I have taken so far. Great town, great food, the nicest people Ive met on any road trip and the bar scene at Northagte can rival ANY college town!! The game atmosphere was good but was not as loud as some made it out to be. The stadium is wide open and I think the fans focus more on the cheers than they do causing communication problems for the opponents, but thats thier tradition! The tailgating before the game was great and every stop along the way we heard "Howdy Gators!", evidently Howdy has taken the place of Hello in Texas?!?

No I didn't say any of those things, you just have the most strict drinking rules in the SEC and it kind of kills your gameday atmosphere. LSU and Auburn both allow kegs at the tailgate. I have been to my fraternities tailgates at both Auburn and LSU, I think LSU had like 13 kegs. Auburn was similar and had a great band at the tailgate. In the grove all you get are throw up tailgate tents, solo cups, and horrible football. Plus Mississippi just has a plain disadvantage with respect to drinking laws.

I'll take that back. LSU is the #1 tailgating schools in the SEC IMO.

Who is 2-14 is up for debate. Pretty sure Kentucky and Vandy are 13-14.

You said we were "pretentious as shite" which implies that shite.

The thing you don't understand is its not shite, just different, and anything that is different for you means its inferior. I can understand not liking the crammed environments (I prefer it), but all the bullshite that LSU fans cite as reasons just don't exist at my tailgate, as well as most my friends. We got great food, loud music, and a warm open environment. Sure you probably won't play beer pong at my tailgate, but a few others do. Is it really that big of a deal that you have to pour your beer in the cup? Yeah its a slight pain, but it shouldn't really even put a damper on the day. Just give it another chance and don't think about how LSU exactly does tailgating and more along the lines of solely wanting to have a good time. If you come in with that attitude, you're more than welcome to a beer at my tailgate.

I haven't been to any besides A&M and LSU but I'll tell you who I'm most excited about:

1. Bama
2. Ole Miss
3. Georgia
4. South Carolina

then the rest.
