Anyone saying Bama oline by a mile is dumb

No. You're dumb.

LSU out rushed Bama

By 48 yards with 83 more carries. Bama averaged 5.5 yards per rush and LSU averaged 4.8 yards per rush.

and allowed less sacks per game and only one more sack overall

LSU allowed less sacks per game for two reasons:
1) LSU threw the ball 78 times fewer than Bama on the season
2) LSU played with a mobile QB for considerably more snaps than Bama did.

LSU returns 4/5 starters like Bama

Good. You can be the 2nd best line in the SEC again in 2012.

quote:

It's the depth in te 4th quarter that makes the diff

Agreed. If LSU hadn't been so deep they may not have been able to cross the 50 with 9 minutes to go in the 4th. That depth made all the difference in the world.

I'm actually pretty interested to see our O Line go up against SEC D Lines every week. It should be really good again in theory with the talent returning, but it will be a whole different game going against SEC D lines every week now. Our D Line is a weakness and will be the biggest reason why we struggle next year on defense.

O-Line- Slight edge to Bama over LSU
D-Line- Easily LSU but USCe should get mentioned.

Thanks to Jordan Jefferson the LSU O-line got a free pass in the title game. I still can not figure out what the frick happened to them at times they wiffed on blocks so badly I wondered if a fix was in

The frick are you talking about?

It's LSU by a mile. Mingo and Montgomery are projected top 15 picks. Logan will go in the late 1st or 2nd round. The other DT is Anthony Johnson, the nations record holder for Sacks in a career in high school. Not to mention our depth is out of this world. After that its obviously USCe because of their sick DE's.

As for being given a spot with the 1s for just walking on campus, thats something left for Ole Miss with Nutt and Masoli and O and Brent Schaffer.

Yeah because Nutt and O still coach at OM and Masoli didn't even start the first game. But nice points Bundy. Oh Carlos Thompson had 5 sacks in the first two scrimmages so he's "awesome" too!!!!

State will give the other d lines a run for their money but not because of their number of stars. Josh Boyd will probably be a first rounder. Autry was juco all american and his coach says he is better than Pernell Mcphee. But they are very very deep on the DL also. Not saying they will be better than LSU, but I would think twice before dismissing this unit. We also had the number one ranked DL class this year.

Exactly. These Bama posters have just erased Nov. 5 from their minds I guess

While state will have a good d line. They are still behind LSU, Bama and Uga. Bama's dline is underrated imo.Their d line does the job it's meant to do, as well as LSU or Uga.

Y'all have a decent oline though. How in the hell did y'all blow all those leads last year. Depth?

We haven't erased it from our minds. But there's no way you can even compare the play of Alabama's offensive line on Nov 5th and the play of LSU's offensive line in the title game. You only passed the 50 yard line one time. You cannot possibly form even a decent excuse for that other than your offensive line was dominated.

The same could be said for LSU fans if roles were reversed. I hated losing the regular season game, but winning on the big stage in New Orleans would have even topped a win during the regular season versus LSU.
