If the SEC were to lose LSU and Arkansas, the league would lose half of it's claimed national titles.

The league would lose, what, 88 or 89 national titles?

You should remind Mike Slive of that. We need to remind ESPN of all your track titles the next time we negotiate a billion dollar tv deal.

Arkansas has National titles in more than one sport. LSU does as well.

Historically, yes Arkansas is second to UK.

Last 15 years, no they aren't.

Last time I checked, 2 > 1.

If track were important, you know Bama would have put Forrest on the track team rather than wasting his abilities on returning a football.

Losing one wouldn't matter much. If I had to pick one it would be A&M or Kentucky. Aggies in time can bring in a larger share of Texas market. Without UK we would really suffer in hoops.

Tv markets, football and basketball (somewhat) are the only sports that matter. For example, arguably the best basketball program of the last decade is stuck in a shite conference because its football program and tv market are small.

And yet we're in the nations premier league and they're stuck in the big 12 on their own closed circuit tv network that no one even has.

National titles isn't the only measuring stick to a programs historical ranking.

Conference titles:
Kentucky: 47
Arkansas: 24
Missouri: 15
LSU: 10

NCAA Tourneys
Kentucky: 53
Arkansas: 30
Missouri: 25
LSU: 20
Tennessee: 20
Alabama: 20
Florida: 19

WIns
Kentucky: 2,140
Arkansas: 1,578
Missouri: 1,575
Alabama: 1,569
Tennessee: 1,552

Win Pct.
Kentucky: 76.2
Arkansas: 63.9
Alabama: 61.9
Tennessee: 61.1
Missouri: 60.3

With what Alabama has done these past few years, you have to have them #1, unfortunately. The national perception of most high school kids is Alabama is the best destination. Factor in the fact that Saban pretty much controls college football, you have to have them #1, unfortunately. Florida #2, Georgia #3, Texas A+M #4, LSU #5.

Are you sure it's unfortunate?

Not bad. Hard to argue with it. Not totally different than mine.

I'm not the idiot who keeps talking about Alabama basketball. I'm actually quite different than your average Bama fan.

Look at the tv numbers for 2013. We're already more valuable for tv ratings than Georgia. And we CRUSHED the ratings in Texas. Y'all are still going off how things used to be, but we're out of our younger brothers shadow now. We're finally claiming our birthright.
