Excellent and interesting question..unfortunately, some of the participating amusement park members don't meet the minimal aptitude-height scale to ride this ride...anyway...something to think about

Most fans refuse to recognize the new world of NCAA athletics. 25 years ago Alabama would be the unquestioned king of the SEC. TV markets have changed all of this. Money is what counts now.

Yet they haven't won a conference championship during the entire 21st century. I am not sure if they have even made a conference championship game during the 21st century

You realize winning is only a part of the ranking he is speaking of. He's not ranking the teams by competitiveness

Kentucky should be higher. Basketball is the 2nd most popular sport in the NCAA. Then add in their national titles.

You also realize A&M would be 2nd in every Texas market at best. People I know tell me even Oklahoma has more fans in the Dallas area. Auburn would be 2nd in the Birmingham and you can make a legit argument we would be 2nd in the Atlanta market for college football.

Big6 + A&M = very important, foundation of the conference (order is irrelevant and fluid)

Mizzou, Kentucky, Arky, USC , oleMiss = less important but certainly bring something to the table

Vandy/MissSt = no offense to either, truly, but low value

LSU and Arkansas are at the top of the list.

The SEC loves to show how many national titles overall the league has and, those two programs carry the torch for the league with the most athletic national titles.

I said we have the 2nd most wins of any SEC team. I actually think Arkansas passed us by one win after they got into the NIT this year, but they have only been in the SEC for 20 some odd years so we still have the 2nd most basketball wins all time of the old SEC teams and the 29th best winning percentage in the nation.

So yes, we have more wins all time than all but UK.

Deal wit it.

Well I didn't know that OM had been to the final 4 and to Omaha in the last 20 years. I guess they take us in football too, given that we've won the last 4/5 head to head.
