It doesn't have great food. It just has weird food. Most people leave it off their menu for a reason and it ain't because they dislike selling food.

Regardless of creole or Cajun food, New Orleans has some of the best restaurants in the country. Same goes for bars. Much better service and food than whatever you get in Austin, TX even the “Michelin Star” restaurants Austin got stars for recently.

I got out of Louisiana when I went to university and I’ll probably never return.

The music is good too. And $500k will buy you one hell of a nice house in NELA.

I left. I can make the food myself. Moved to Tx and married a rancher. Best of both worlds

I am of sound mind and prefer to reside in my home state. I would rather live here than in any part of Texas, except for San Antonio or Corpus. The only other location I would consider relocating to is the panhandle of Florida.

I moved to Tennessee 21 years ago but family still lives in Shreveport. Louisiana will always be home. Great memories and times growing up there.

Many LSU graduates gtfo as soon as they get their degree!

I DO miss the food and being able to attend a game when I want, but I DO NOT miss anything else about Louisiana.

Here's New Smyrna Beach................

I am old (73). Lived in suburban Dallas and suburban Atlanta for most of my adult life. My wife and I CHOSE to return to Baton Rouge when we retired. In 11 years back in BR we have no regrets. Louisiana is a great place to live and it is home.

I haven't lived in Louisiana since graduating high school in 1988, but I love to go back to see family. Took a couple Missouri guys and visited Thibodaux last weekend. Great people who were so friendly wherever we went.

Geaux Tigers!
